One of the most important things to do in Genshin Impact is to properly manage your resources. These aren’t limited by any means, but sometimes repeating tasks, killing the same boss several times or collecting the same little things scattered around the map can get tiring. And, when you’re only missing two or three resources, but you’ve already collected everything, do you open the list of friends who are online to see who would allow you to enter the world and get those two missing items? So, to avoid having these problems, it’s always good to manage them.
In this case, it’s always good to know which characters to invest your valuable resources in. Some characters are very good in their areas, some are versatile and can take your team far during your trip to the Abyss. And some are just cool to have in your collection.
Since not everyone has the spare Primogems to get the five-star meta, these four-star characters can help you deal with this problem because they’re great even without their constellations. These characters are so broken that they make five-star characters a luxury. Let's talk about some of the best four-star characters in Genshin Impact, and if you have any questions, leave a comment.
Kaveh
The Dendro element has seen a number of excellent characters since its introduction. In simple terms, Kaveh is the four-star equivalent of Alhaitham. The debt-ridden architect who shares a house with his greatest rival from the academy is one of the most underrated four-stars in the game (and also one of the most feared, thanks to the multiplayer bug that caused world items to disappear).

This Dendro element Greatsword wielder, with his elemental ability, creates an area that automatically activates all seeds around it. His damage output may not seem like much at first glance, but when you build a team built around his Bloom and Burn reactions, he can destroy enemies with explosive elemental reactions.
Yanfei
Ad
The Liyue lawyer is one of the most powerful four-star characters, and her ability to produce reactions shouldn’t be underestimated. Compared to four-star characters, Yanfei has the third-highest base attack (tied with Rosaria). Pyro characters often end up being strong due to elemental reactions, and Yanfei is no exception.

While attacking, Yanfei can build up attack stacks and increase the damage of her charged attack when she has four stacks accumulated. This power requires good stamina management to be able to use it when it's time to explode her charged attack. Putting her with other characters who attack off the field is a great strategy.
Chevreuse
It's fair to say that most of Fontaine's characters so far have been quite interesting and enjoyable to use in gameplay, and Chevreuse continues this impressive streak by introducing a powerful four-star Pyro character. Fontaine's Special Security and Surveillance Patrol Captain is surprisingly powerful in the right situations.

When it comes to building F2P teams, Chevreuse may be one of the most important characters to be released at some point. Chevreuse has the potential to compete with Kazuha as a DPS in single-target situations, and with C6 she can even outperform her damage on overpowered reaction-oriented teams.
Shikanoin Heizou

Heizou was the first character to fight with his bare hands, using a catalyst as his weapon of choice but not attacking with it, like a mage using his grimoire. Yeah, this detective from Inazuma actually gets things done with a fistfight! He uses a series of Anemo-elemental punch and kick attacks long before Wanderer was even released. He's a great damage dealer who can dish out ridiculously high numbers even without constellations.
Even with a four-star catalyst like The Widsith or Sacrificial Fragments, his damage output shouldn't be underestimated. He's also a versatile build, as you can use him purely for his Splash reaction, equipping him with Elemental Mastery artifacts, or as an Anemo DPS, increasing his Damage and Critical Rate.
Noelle
A key early-game character who can still be used for a long time. The wonderful maid of Mondstadt and future Knight of Favonius does everything you’d want: has a powerful shield, good healing, and deals considerable damage with some weapon and artifact upgrades. Noelle is a jack-of-all-trades and is still one of the most adorable in the game.

Noelle can function as a support character or a main DPS. Having a C6 Noelle can even match an Arataki Itto in damage. Whether you equip her with the powerful Redhorn Stonethresher or the simple Whiteblind, Noelle won’t let you down.
Beidou
The “Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean” is a must-have four-star, and she’s as strong as her story suggests. However, she’s not easy to play, and you’ll need to master her elemental counterattack ability to deal massive damage (which shouldn’t be a problem for any fighting game player).

But even if you're not using her as your main DPS, her Electro shield offers decent protection and still has good application against enemies. This makes her a great teammate for Haste teams. So, Beidou is an excellent support and a great damage dealer, as long as you play her right.
Fischl
The Princess of Sins is unstoppable alongside her loyal companion Oz, and can be built to become a great off-field Electro support or a physical damage DPS. She also does a good job as an Electro energy battery for many characters that need Energy Recharge, which is why you'll often see her on teams with Beidou.
Fischl may be one of the best Electro characters in Genshin Impact and her team selection is highly flexible. She works on a variety of teams and is a common pick for those who need consistent Electro application but don't have the Electro Archon on their roster. Players often use either The Stringless or Mitternachts Waltz, which are four-star bows.
Barbara
The Shining idol of the Church of Favonious is adorable – and it’s scary how much damage she can do to Vaporize teams in the memes we see around the internet. Whether it’s true or just memes, Barbara is still a good character to build, as she’s a great choice for Dendro-based teams. If you don’t have the Hydro Archon, Furina on your account. Her main role is to be a healer and, best of all, she’s given to you at the beginning of the game.

Dendro teams, especially in the Bloom reaction, often need healers, as the explosion of the seeds indiscriminately damages enemies and the active character, and she is a great alternative to provide healing in place of Kokomi if you don't have her.

Kuki Shinobu
The Arataki Gang Captain is irreplaceable as an Electro healer, and her ability to trigger Haste and Hyperbloom makes her a must-have for many Dendro teams. If you have her without constellations, just put maximum HP and Elemental Mastery on her, as she’ll be enough to heal your active character while dealing damage with reactions.

She's definitely a good option for those who need another good Electro dealer and can't use Fischl. This is especially true in the Abyss, where you can only use one character on a team for each "side" of the Abyss Room. She's also definitely a better choice than Beidou or Fischl if you're expecting a really tough fight where you can't use healing items.
Yaoyao
Revealed in promotional materials since version 1.0, but only made it into the game in version 3.4, rest assured that your account will be much better with Yaoyao on it. She's one of the few characters in Liyue's Dendro, and is a phenomenal healer using her bunny, Yuegui, and a friend and training partner of Xiangling.

Her ability can heal the currently active character on the field if that character's HP is below 70%. However, her Elemental Burst allows her to constantly heal the entire party while dealing decent damage to enemies. She's also great at applying Dendro to surrounding enemies, making her a perfect fit for Bloom or Haste teams.

Sucrose
If you’re still at a low adventure level and haven’t reached Inazuma and can’t catch or upgrade your Kazuha, Sucrose is the best option you have to deal Whirlwind damage and control the field. In addition, their ascension materials that are scattered throughout Monstadt make them accessible even at the beginning of the game.
But she’s also a worthwhile investment, as her element-spreading ability is unmatched among four-star Anemo supports. Equipping her with the three-star catalyst, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, can boost your active character’s attack for a short period of time.
Gaming
Gaming isn’t just an odd man out when it comes to the best four-star characters, but he’s also one of the few Swordsman characters who are a breeze to use. An artist, Wushou dancer, and mercenary ready to protect merchant caravans, Gaming is a responsible and talented kid.

His main damage comes from his Elemental Skill, which has him leaping high into the air and then plunging into enemies. This becomes even more powerful during his Elemental Burst, as you can consistently generate energy to recharge his skill. Gaming can help you win many battles in the game, especially if you have his constellations unlocked, and he also gets a huge buff from characters like Xianyun.
Xingqiu

Xingqiu's elemental burst, Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen, provides one of the best Hydro applications in the game, and he easily fits into most meta teams that need offensive Hydro applications. When paired with Pyro DPS, the vaporization reactions he can unleash are insane.
Xingqiu can be a powerful support character, especially when you boost the Hydro abilities of her Rain Swords. The five-star character Yelan may have nearly the same element application at a slightly faster rate, but Xingqiu does the same for much less. Many players often compare their abilities and support capabilities, and a Yelan without constellations or her signature weapon does not outperform Xingqiu by a significant margin.
Xiangling
This list wouldn't be complete without our Liyue chef, Xiangling. As a Pyro DPS, she can outperform certain five-star Pyro-elemental characters, and she does so without having to pick up signature weapons from the Weapon Banner. Typically, Dragon's Bane or The Catch would be the best choice for her.

You'll find her most popular in the many versions of the international team, and conversely, Melt on teams with Cryo-enforcers like Rosaria and Chongyun. If you haven't built her yet after earning yours on one of the lower floors of the Abyss, then it's never too late to do so.
Bennett
The unofficial “Pyro Archon,” Bennett is, by far, one of the four-star characters in the game and one of the most used in the Spiral Abyss (if Hoyo ever takes him out of the Abyss, most meta players won't even get past floor 9). But other than that, Bennett has a lot of utility as the best damage amplifier in the game and as a healer. Some even build their Bennetts as main DPS, which is even viable, but with the right weapons.

Speaking of weapons, you can either give him the sword with the highest Base Attack you have or give him a sword with enough Energy Recharge—he's not picky. By leveling him up to 90 and topping off his Elemental Burst, you'll be able to decimate most content in the game. And don't get the message that his C6 isn't good. Activate it as soon as you get it!
