The layoffs announced by Xbox have affected staff at The Coalition, World's Edge, Treyarch and Raven Software. The company had reported 268 job cuts at Halo Studios and other development teams, but initially did not detail all the studios affected. Posts from developers began to reveal the extent of the move.

At The Coalition, the studio behind Gears of War: E-Day, narrative director Juan Vaca said on LinkedIn that he had been included in this round of Microsoft layoffs and was open to opportunities in games, film and television. His post came after the studio celebrated the previous week that Gears of War: E-Day had reached its final production build. Early access for the premium edition is scheduled for October 1.

Josh Daniels, of Halo Studios, also announced that he had been laid off. According to him, it happened the same week he received a promotion. Daniels said he planned to take some time away from social media, but was available to discuss cinematic direction or production roles.

The impact at World's Edge, the studio behind Age of Empires, may have been even greater. Adam Isgreen, the former creative director, said in a post on the ResetEra forum that just over half the team had been let go, including him. In another post on LinkedIn, he lamented the end of his time at the studio and said there had been plans for its upcoming projects. World's Edge is among the teams that will now report to Activision.

Developers from Treyarch and Raven Software also posted about their departures on LinkedIn. For now, Xbox's initial announcement does not break down the 268 cuts by studio.
