Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions has received a major update on iPhone, iPad and Android. The update adds controller support, a 60 fps option and changes to the battle interface, as well as a fast-forward feature.

It is the mobile edition’s first major update in more than five years. The game received bug fixes and smaller changes during that time, but this update puts renewed focus on the experience on phones and tablets.

The new features address some of the version’s limitations, particularly for players who prefer physical controllers or want smoother performance. The tactical RPG’s core gameplay remains unchanged.

On iOS, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is still sold as two separate versions: one for iPhone and one for iPad. There is no universal purchase that grants access on both devices. On Android, the game is sold as a separate edition for the platform.

The update also renews speculation that Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles could come to mobile, but no iPhone, iPad or Android versions have been confirmed. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
