Konami wants to establish an annual release schedule for new Silent Hill games. Producer Motoi Okamoto revealed the information during Gamescom 2026 while discussing the company's plans to keep one of its flagship horror series active.

According to Okamoto, the goal is to release a new entry in the franchise every year. The strategy is designed to prevent Silent Hill from being confined to the same ideas and its traditional American setting, which could limit storytelling opportunities and lead to player fatigue.

The series also has several unannounced projects still in development. Okamoto did not provide details on those games, but said the team is exploring different experiences and formats to surprise fans of the franchise.

That direction is already evident in Silent Hill f. Rather than the American setting most familiar to the community, the game takes the series to 1960s Japan, marking a significant change of scenery for the brand.

The initiative is part of Konami's broader strategy for its classic properties. President Hideki Hayakawa said the company is investing in strengthening franchises such as Silent Hill, Metal Gear, Castlevania and Momotaro Dentetsu, developing several properties simultaneously and bringing its games to multiple devices.

Silent Hill is entering a new phase after Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f. The next confirmed release is Silent Hill: Townfall, scheduled for September 22.
