Sony has announced two new wireless headsets in its Pulse lineup for PS5: the Pulse Wireless Headset and the Pulse Edge Wireless Headset. Both models will also be compatible with other devices and feature improvements to sound, comfort and noise filtering during voice chat.The Pulse Wireless Headset is expected to arrive by the end of this year, while the Pulse Edge Wireless Headset will launch in early 2027. Sony has yet to reveal exact dates, prices or pre-order plans. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, those details will be announced later.Both headsets will use studio-inspired planar magnetic drivers, a technology associated with more detailed sound reproduction. The goal is to help players pick up subtle audio cues during matches, such as enemy footsteps. Sony also says larger planar drivers have been added to both models to deliver deeper bass without compromising sound clarity.Voice communication has been upgraded with built-in microphones featuring AI-enhanced noise rejection. The feature filters out ambient sounds to make voice chat clearer. Both models will also have an updated design focused on long-term comfort and durability, along with swiveling ear cups that allow the headsets to lie flat for easier transport.The Pulse Edge will be the more advanced of the two models. It will feature active noise cancellation, a detachable boom microphone and an included carrying case. Sony has yet to announce how much either headset will cost or confirm their specific release dates.
