Introduction

The Shorekeeper and Youhou

Coming at the end of September, and with current events soon changing into new ones, we have the end of the Xiangli Yao banner, which will soon give way to the new Glacio character known as The Shorekeeper, and Youhou .

Whenever new characters are released, especially in Wuthering Waves where, for now, there is no repetition of characters but only new people joining the story, players organize themselves to use their Waveplates. Also called Resins, there is a correct use of the resource to reach the characters' peak power as quickly as possible.

Learn how to manage this resource correctly, more easily achieving rewards from a high-level team within Wuthering Waves. From its use in abilities, to statuses, increasing the level of weapons and characters, and how to prepare these same resources for characters to come.

What can Waveplates be used for?

The best form of in-game guidance for the resource is the Guidebook, which is located in the pause menu itself. There, we can both track down bosses whose drops we want, and collect rewards from daily missions.

Remembering that we have a maximum stock of 240 Waveplates, which regenerate in 24 hours. In addition, we also have a stock of Waveplate Crystals, up to a total of 480, which are also convertible into normal Waveplates, it's like extra storage that regenerates over a longer period of time, but it benefits players who can only log in every 2or 3 days, for example.

Forgery Challenge
Forgery Challenge

For ability farms and weapon levels, we have the Forgery Challenges. These are easy challenges to complete and are used to collect materials to increase damage, cooldown, etc. The key is to pay attention first to the DPS characters' primary abilities, since these are the most impactful during combat. Later, you can either strengthen this character further, or improve the healing abilities of the supporting Resonators. Each challenge costs a total of 40 Waveplates.

Then, we have the Simulation Challenges. These involve character EXP to increase your level, and it’s important to obtain them if your stock is low and there’s a character coming soon who you want to acquire. This way, when they’re obtained, it’ll not be necessary to slowly increase their level, which would prevent their immediate use in combat. Its cost is also 40.

Boss Challenge

Going along, there are the Boss Challenges. These cost 60, and allow characters to ascend with corresponding material. In this case, an ascension refers to increasing the maximum level that the character can reach

Tacet Supression

Tacet Suppression, or Tacet Field Challenge, involves slightly more complex challenges, which allow you to more efficiently collect Echoes that correspond to the element you want. Echoes determine the character's general stats, and are therefore rare and require a greater amount of dedicated time to get them. A DPS character, for example, will want Echoes with an increase in Crit Rate %. They cost 60 Waveplates.

Finally, we have Weekly Challenges, challenges with Bosses who take longer to defeat but that grant more unique materials, which generally have a limited number of chances to obtain weekly.

How to choose which character to invest in

The most recommended characters for Waveplates' first investment are the DPS ones, as they represent the most screen time in the game, and consequently the greatest influence in combat. If the main DPS character is weakened, fights are more difficult and last longer, even if the Healers and Supporters are adequate. Therefore, at least one DPS and one Supporter must be improved, always remembering that in the case of Healers, you can choose to evolve only support skills, thus saving materials and Waveplates.

If you are a more experienced player, then you have already come across the so-called Tower of Adversity. This is a more difficult endgame challenge, where the player forms a team of three resonators, and clears a series of battles. However, the super effective elements are varied, and the characters have energy, so you cannot use the same character in every tower fight.

So, the best option here is to evolve a wider range of characters who cover less favored elements or functions currently on your account; If there’s only one evolved Electro DPS, it may be interesting to invest in others with the Spectro and Fusion elements, for example.

Echoes weekly farm

One more tip for improving the quality of your farm: the level of the Echoes you obtain is proportional to the level of your Data Bank, so leaving it at a level close to the maximum allows you to obtain only legendary Echoes. Then, every Wednesday, there is a reset of the so-called Improved Drop Rate, that is, for every 15 boss eliminations, there is a higher percentage chance of obtaining the Echo from that boss. At maximum level, this chance is 100%, and makes it easier to obtain Echoes with ideal sub-attributes.

With proper planning, it’s possible to obtain characters at launch already at maximum level and with adequate skills to use them in your world. Wuthering Waves is friendly to Free-to-play players, and the amount of materials and resins obtained daily is a testament to this.
