Recently, more specifically at The Game Awards 2025, Blizzard announced Lord of Hatred, the newest expansion for Diablo IV! The content hasn't been fully released yet and will be officially launched on April 28, 2026.
However, fans who pre-ordered the product can already use the Paladin normally. Obviously, dozens of strategies have already emerged to fully exploit this new playable class, and we at UmGamer tested the best ones to bring you a complete guide.
Today, the focus is on Auradin, a setup that focuses on optimizing the power of the Holy Light Aura to melt hordes of enemies simply by moving around the map. The central objective is to balance extremely fast farming with the necessary sustain to face the Pit and elite bosses. Check it out!
Overview and Gameplay Style
The Auradin playstyle is often compared to a "walking simulator" due to the passive nature of its primary damage source. You emanate a constant holy energy that strikes all nearby opponents, eliminating the need to repeatedly click on each individual target.
The core gear of this build is the interaction between the Holy Light Aura and the unique item Dawnfire. This item replaces the aura's standard passive damage with a massive area-of-effect damage that covers your surroundings. This damage scales significantly with Attack Speed and Aura Potency.

In the endgame, by including Ancestral items, the build evolves from a defensive support to a devastating force that uses summons and automatic passives to maintain pressure on the battlefield.
Strengths and Weaknesses of the Build
The biggest advantage of this build lies in its consistency and ease of execution. It offers one of the most relaxing screen clears in the game, allowing the player to focus on positioning and item collection. Furthermore, the blocking ability and barrier generation make the character very resilient in high-level content.
On the other hand, Auradin faces challenges against damage over time (DoT) effects and elemental pools on the ground, as the blocking mechanic doesn’t protect against these specific hazards.
Items, Aspects, and Runes
Uniques
The aforementioned Dawnfire is the heart of the area of effect damage mechanic; it’s the first and last Unique required.

However, there are other recommended pieces of equipment. Griswold's Opus is the main weapon for this build because it provides increased critical damage, directly interacting with your objective – since its aura also deals this type of damage.

For the headgear, the Godslayer Crown serves as an excellent option, although a legendary helmet with good defensive affixes might be preferable if survival is an issue.

Finally, there's no need to follow strict recommendations for shields, amulets, and rings. Just pay attention to the Aspects mentioned in the next topic!
Legendary Aspects
The first Aspects to prioritize should be Proselytizing, Ascension, and Celestial Strife, all focused on increasing damage. However, if you need to increase your movement or defense, Arbiter's Zephyr is the best option; use it on your boots.
After that, you should add the buffs Angelic Masterwork, Indomitable, and Holy Punishment.
Priority Affixes
When filtering your Anciestrals, prioritize the following limits: Block Chance, Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage, Cooldown Reduction (CDR), and Movement Speed.
Runes and Consumables
For weapons and armor, use the Neo + Ceh runes to automatically summon wolves, which increases aura sources and applies freezing and vulnerability effects. For survival, the Nagu + Que combination generates permanent barriers. As consumables, use the Elixir of Fortitude II and spices that increase resistance and health.

If you want to use a different rune combination, you can swap Neo + Ceh for Igni + Thul, giving up the wolves to generate better crowd control by stunning enemies in an area.

Skills and Talent Tree
The point distribution aims to maximize sacred rites and ensure that your utility skills offer the greatest possible support for passive damage.

Active Abilities
Key choices for the action bar include the Holy Light Aura, which should receive maximum point investment to serve as your primary tool for destroying elites; also focus on acquiring its passive Rite of Judgement for increased damage.

Defiance Aura and Fanaticism Aura, strengthened respectively by the effects of Rite of Prayer and Rite of Vengeance, complement fights in different ways. While one grants health and determination recovery, and is also useful for becoming Unstoppable and escaping stuns, the other inflicts weakness on nearby opponents, increasing the efficiency of your offensive side.

Arbiter of Justice is indispensable, guaranteeing a long duration as an Arbiter and, when including the Seraph's Wings passive, allowing you to enhance this form.

Falling Star acts as your primary mobility tool. It allows you to jump between groups of monsters or overcome obstacles in the environment. Furthermore, its use is fundamental to activating Arbiter form through synergy with the Disciple specialization – which will be discussed in the next subtopic.

Finally, Consecration creates a zone of safety and power amplification, making it vital to position yourself within it during boss fights.

Class Specialization
The specialization for this build has already been mentioned: Disciple. This option causes "Disciple" skills (Arbiter of Justice and Falling Star) to restore your Arbiter form for an additional 4.5 seconds. Furthermore, these same skills receive a 50% damage increase during setup.

Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon system is where the build gains the robustness needed for higher difficulties. Correct board placement ensures that attribute bonuses reach the necessary nodes, so pay close attention to this aspect.
Order for Releasing the Boards
They all begin with Start; see the list below to understand the boards and glyphs used in each one:

Attention! Below is a macro view of the Dashboard to clarify the necessary rotations in each field:

Priority Glyphs
It's essential to progress through The Pit to level up your glyphs, as they expand the radius of influence at levels 15 and 46, unlocking crucial bonuses that were previously inaccessible.
The evolution sequence should focus first on Spirit and Judicator, which offer the greatest immediate returns in terms of damage. Then, focus on Honed, Resplendence, and Canny. After reaching level 15 on the glyphs, the priority changes; aim to upgrade Resplendence and then Honed at level 46, with the goal of maximizing utility and reducing endgame costs.
How to Play as an Auradin
The Auradin build is intuitive. Start by activating your auras and use Arbiter of Justice to dive into combat, then constantly abuse Falling Star to spend more time in its best configuration.
Positioning is key: you should always try to keep as many enemies as possible within the radius of your aura while moving continuously. Also, keep the wolves summoned through runes so they spread the effect of your aura across the battlefield.
When encountering elite groups or bosses, place Consecration and stay within the area to receive the bonuses.
It's worth mentioning that your Faith reserve will rarely decrease, even in long fights, as very few spells use this resource. On the other hand, always pay attention to the duration of your Arbiter form; it's one of the requirements when it comes to making the most of the build, and it requires you to use Falling Star constantly.
Conclusion
Auradin is a force of nature in Diablo 4. By combining the passivity of the Holy Light Aura with the explosiveness of Dawnfire and the utility of summoning runes, you create a character capable of navigating any content in the game safely and quickly. Following attribute priorities and the correct glyph evolution will ensure your hero is ready for the biggest challenges of Season 11 without requiring superhuman reflexes.
