Genshin Impact: How to Build Mavuika

As a versatile character, Mavuika can act not only as a Sub-DPS, applying Pyro to enemies, but also as a powerful DPS on the field. Mavuika uses a Claymore as her main weapon. Her Elemental Skill has two versions: "touch" and "hold". The touch version performs targeted attacks against enemies, while the hold version grants Pyro infusion, allowing Mavuika to act as main DPS.

What really stands out in her kit is the Ultimate (Elemental). Mavuika's Ultimate doesn’t depend on Energy, but on a resource called "Combat Spirit". When Mavuika has at least 50% Combat Spirit, she can consume all of that energy to release her Ultimate. During the Ultimate-activated state, her resistance to interruptions increases, and her attacks become even more powerful.

The Best Weapons

A Thousand Blazing Suns, Mavuika's signature weapon, (surprisingly to zero people) suits her perfectly. Critical Rate is this 5-star sword's secondary stat, which frees her to focus on other stats like Critical Damage on her Circlet, and her passive ability is a marvel.

The sword triggers the Scorching Brilliance effect: when the character using this sword uses its elemental skill or burst, it increases Critical Damage by 20% and Attack by 26% for six seconds. The duration of the effect increases by two seconds each time the user lands a hit with a normal or charged attack, or an elemental ability, for a maximum of an additional six seconds. Finally, when the user is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, Scorching Brilliance buffs increase by 75%. The best thing about this ability is that the blessing countdown pauses while the weapon user is out of bounds.

Mavuika has other options available, of course, including Dehya's Beacon of the Reed Sea, which also increases the user's Critical Rate and increases attack by 20% and then an additional 20% when the user receives damage.

The Wolf's Gravestone is also a strong choice, despite being simpler. It gives the character a considerable attack buff with their secondary stat – 49% at max level – and an additional 20% with their passive.

Fang of the Mountain King is an alternative, but it only works well if Mavuika is on a Dendro team. It increases the user's elemental skill and elemental burst damage, although Burn and Flourish reactions are the only way to activate its stat bonuses.

On the 4-star side, Serpent Spine is the easiest weapon to pick up for Mavuika, as you can get one with the paid version of the Battle Pass at level 30. It has an increased Critical Rate and increases user's attack by up to 30% while they remain on the field.

There is also the free and forgeable Earth Shaker, part of Natlan's weapon collection. This sword increases the user's attack and, after triggering a Pyro reaction, increases their Elemental Skill damage by 16%.

Best artifacts for Mavuika

The Codex Obsidian is the strongest and most obvious choice for Mavuika. Although her 4 piece bonus only activates while she is on the field. Another set worth mentioning is the Scroll of the Hero of the City of Cinders, which can work particularly well if there are no other characters like Xilonen or Citlali on the team who are already utilizing this artifact set.

Mavuika doesn’t need Energy Recharge. Her unique Elemental Burst activation mechanic relies on the accumulation of Combat Spirit, through actions such as other party members using Nightsoul points or performing Normal Attacks. This eliminates the need for Energy Recharge and allows players to focus entirely on maximizing their damage potential through the stats mentioned below.

For the Sands, players can choose between ATK% and Elemental Mastery depending on team composition and the bonuses provided by their weapon. A Pyro Damage bonus is the best main stat for the Goblet, while the Circlet should prioritize Critical Rate or Critical Damage (whichever you're lacking).

Here are some of the best artifact sets for Mavuika, depending on your desired playstyle:

1. Codex Obsidian: This set significantly increases Mavuika's damage while she is in the Combat Spirit activated state. Additionally, it offers a 40% Critical Rate bonus, making it easier to optimize your artifact routine.

2. Scroll of the Hero of the City of Cinders: Ideal for using Mavuika as support off the field, this set provides extra damage, in addition to contributing to the team's overall performance.

3. Crimson Witch of Flames: If you're still early in the game, this set is an excellent choice for increasing Mavuika's overall Pyro damage and the elemental reactions she triggers.

4. Gladiator’s Finale: If you don’t have any of the previous sets, you can opt for this one, which increases Mavuika’s attack damage significantly while she’s on the field.

Attribute priorities in artifacts

As explained above, Mavuika's Elemental Burst doesn’t use elemental energy but rather the “combat spirit” generated by Natlan's characters, so don't waste your time with Energy Recharge, as it won't be necessary. The main attributes of specific artifacts must follow these priorities:

• Flower: Fixed HP.

• Feather: Fixed ATK.

• Sands: % ATK.

• Goblet: Pyro Damage Bonus.

• Circlet: Critical Rate or Critical Damage, depending on your need.

Most desired sub-attributes:

• Critical Damage (Crit DMG).

• Critical Rate.

• % ATK, if necessary.

Talent priorities for Mavuika

Mavuika, like all Genshin Impact characters, has three main talents which can be improved. The order of priority for improving these talents depends on the role you want Mavuika to play on the team:

• If Mavuika is used as a Sub-DPS (outside the field):

Prioritize your Elemental Skill, followed by your Ultimate. Normal Attack can be ignored as she won’t deal damage through basic attacks.

• If Mavuika is your main DPS:

Due to her unique mechanic of accumulating “Combat Spirit”, it’s essential that Mavuika has at least one Natlan character on the team, as it’s through the accumulation of Nightsoul that she gains energy to use her Elemental Burst. Would it be possible to play with her without any Natlan characters along? Yes. Is it recommended? No!

“But I don't have any Natlan characters on my account! What now?" Even if you’ve skipped all the banners to get to her with the most Primogems, you will at least have Kachina in your account, as she was given for free. So, if necessary, use her!

Team example:

• Mavuika (Sub-DPS): In this team, Mavuika applies Pyro consistently while out of the field, using her Elemental Skill.

• Kinich (Main DPS): Kinich, a Dendro character, takes the lead role, dealing constant damage and applying Dendro for powerful elemental reactions with Pyro.

• Zhongli (Support): Zhongli protects the team with his shields while reducing enemies' elemental resistance, increasing overall damage.

• Bennett (Support/Buffer): Bennett offers healing and attack buffs to Mavuika and Kinich, considerably increasing the team's performance.
