Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that it is working on the second game in the Hogwarts Legacy series. The mention appears in a company report to shareholders, which lists the next installment in the franchise among the projects expected to make a significant contribution to WB Games’ future profitability.

The official title has not yet been revealed. For now, the company refers to the project only as the second installment in the Hogwarts Legacy franchise, without providing details about its platforms, release window, development studio or gameplay features.

The sequel follows the first game’s strong commercial performance. Released in 2023, Hogwarts Legacy reached 40 million copies sold by December 2025, making it one of the best-selling games of all time.

Warner Bros. had already identified a sequel as one of its top priorities in 2024. Now, the project’s inclusion in the shareholder report makes its development public and underscores the importance the franchise will have in the games division’s plans.

WB Games is going through a difficult period, marked by the closure of several studios and the cancellation of games following the disappointing performance of titles such as MultiVersus and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Against that backdrop, Hogwarts Legacy is emerging as one of the company’s most important properties.

The first game took players to Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and nearby regions of the wizarding world in a story set long before the events known from Harry Potter. The sequel could build on locations that have already been established, but Warner Bros. has not confirmed whether Hogwarts and Hogsmeade will return or whether the map will include new areas.

HBO’s Harry Potter series is also scheduled to premiere at the end of this year, while Warner Bros. has yet to announce when the next Hogwarts Legacy will be released.
