Capcom has released update 3.2 for Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PlayStation 5. Considered the biggest update yet for the open-world RPG, the 48 GB patch overhauls several aspects of the experience.

The patch arrives ahead of the Dark Arisen expansion, which is set to launch on 9 October. The update introduces sweeping changes to combat balance, Pawn and enemy behavior, and several key elements of the user interface.

Performance has also been a focus. Capcom has added general optimizations to the game engine, along with performance improvements that may reduce frame-rate issues in Dragon’s Dogma 2’s open world.

Among the changes, players can now skip the opening section of the story when replaying the game. The number of assignable weapon skills has increased from four to six, while characters are less likely to stagger for a period after taking a hit.

Enemies are also now less likely to target players while they are crawling. If a character is attacked while downed, they will stand up immediately. Stamina recovery items used while exhausted now take effect instantly, and the invincibility period after being revived with a wakestone has been extended.

The list of adjustments also includes changes to Fighter, Thief, Warrior, Mystic Spearhand and unarmed combat. Goblins, Hobgoblins, Choppers, Knackers, Saurians, Asps, Serpents, Rattlers, Magma Scales, Skeletons, Stout Undeads, Phantoms, Phantasms and Specters are also among the enemies affected by the changes.

Capcom published the full patch notes months ago, but they help illustrate the scale of the changes included in update 3.2, which is now available to download on PS5.
