Dead by Daylight to remove Chucky content in 2026

The Chucky chapter will be removed from stores in November 2026, but players who have already unlocked the content will still be able to use it.

Behaviour Interactive will remove the Chucky chapter from Dead by Daylight’s stores on November 24, 2026. From that date, the Killer known in the game as The Good Guy and the associated content will no longer be available for purchase.

Players who unlocked items from the chapter before its removal will still be able to use them in matches. Behaviour also said it will continue to release bug fixes for the character, but will not add new add-ons. Chucky’s outfits and cosmetics will also be removed from sale.

To mark the removal, the developer will launch a farewell sale on October 26. The “Last Chance” sale will cut prices on items related to the chapter by 50% across all platforms and run until the chapter is removed in November.

Chucky’s departure adds to a series of licensed characters leaving the game. Pinhead, from Hellraiser, was removed from digital stores in 2025, after joining Dead by Daylight in 2021. Michael Myers, from Halloween, was removed in January this year. In both cases, players who had already purchased the content could continue using it.

Behaviour did not explain why Chucky is being removed. Fans often point to licensing issues as the reason for removals like this, but the developer has not confirmed that to be the case with the character. Licensing has also been cited as an obstacle to Jason Voorhees joining the game, before he arrived a few months ago.

The fact that new players can no longer buy the content could have effects beyond sales: players do not need to own a chapter to face its Killer in a match. With Chucky no longer available in stores, however, fewer people may start playing as him, and the character could appear less often in matches.
