Marvel Rivals has been growing into one of the most popular and talked about games since its launch. The Hero Shooter, which until now many people thought wouldn’t stay popular, has been getting and keeping great numbers for months.
We know how important the release of new characters is and how much of an impact it has on titles in this genre. It’s one of the main factors responsible for increasing the players’ hype during an update. NetEase has proven that they can do this very well with Marvel Rivals if they take advantage of the huge and renowned cast it has on hand, keeping the game popular for many years.

The release of the Fantastic Four is proof of this. Several creators comment on it in their networks, videos, guides and curiosities about the new playable heroes.

With that in mind, and since we’ve already worked on a list of general characters that deserve to enter the game, we’ve also created content focused only on villains who may come to Hero Shooter. Check it out!
Red Skull

Red Skull isn’t only a mortal enemy to Captain America, but he and his family also have a history with the Winter Soldier, two heroes already present in the game.
Although he’s mostly remembered for being a renowned leader and strategist, his hand-to-hand combat skills cannot be forgotten about, as Johann Schmidt also has superhuman strength and agility.
The villain was once one of Germany's trusted men during World War II, and was also at one point the commander of HYDRA, a very relevant organization in the MCU. This shows how much he represents in this universe, especially in previous decades, and should have a place in the game. It’d be interesting to be introduced to an event that has interactions between him, the Winter Soldier and Captain America.
Green Goblin

Another classic Marvel figure, the Green Goblin is well known for being one of Spider-Man's main antagonists. Norman Osborn wouldn’t only add a lot to the cast, bringing his own name, but he also brings many resources to add to your skill kit.
I see him as a possible duelist with high agility using his glider, in addition to causing huge explosions with bombs and missiles. It’d be interesting to see a skill where he gets off his glider and lets it move alone with blades to pierce enemies, an attack well remembered by fans for having failed and caused the Goblin's own death in the film Spider-Man (2002).
Dr. Octopus

Taking the opportunity to mention another villain present in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy, Doctor Octopus (Otto Octavius) has always been against the hero in comic book sagas, video games and movies, leaving his mark on a generation of fans.
This scientist, who’s extremely capable of creating mechanisms, has as his main characteristic his titanium steel arms. They bring a high potential for mobility and destruction. He could be a Vanguard suitable for Dive compositions, where he could use his arms as bulletproof shields, in addition to making great leaps to keep up with the team.
Mysterio

Closing off the trio of notorious enemies of the arachnid, Mysterio could make a curious and unexpected partnership with Loki, as both use illusionism as a weapon of combat. Although his main characteristic is his specialty in the area of cinema and visual manipulation, Mysterio can bring abilities which refer to his knowledge of chemical substances, he’s able to use hallucinogens aiming to affect the enemy mentally, who falls into hallucinations and loses touch with reality.

Even though he isn’t as well known as others, he’s been receiving attention again, such as in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Ultron

Ultron already has one foot in Marvel Rivals after some users released an alleged leak of all of his skills in the Hero Shooter. But still, it's not official. So far, players believe that Ultron will be a Strategist in the game, flying to get around and using his drones to heal the team.
Regardless of what the Android's role will be, I'm sure he'll be a good addition to the roster. Despite having old appearances in the comics, starting at the late 60s, Ultron became better known with the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron. It depicts how the planet got after the awakening of the A.I. that was created by the heroes, but rebelled against them.
The fact that Ultron was created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner not only creates a strong relationship between them, but also reflects very current debates about the “A.I. revolution”, which has caught the interest of the younger community.
Apocalypse

One of the X-Men's main enemies, Apocalypse could become one of the characters who has the most unique gameplay in the Hero Shooter. In addition to his immense strength, speed, and regeneration capabilities, the villain also stands out for his mental powers such as telepathy and telekinesis, above many other Marvel personalities.
So, Apocalypse could be able to control enemies, or lift them with his own thoughts. His manipulation abilities also allow him to increase in size.
Galactus

The Devourer of Worlds would be a great addition to the next seasons, taking advantage of the fact that he’ll be the main threat in the new Fantastic Four movie. The group was already on the rise before, since the Human Torch, Thing, Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic were recently added to the playable cast of Marvel Rivals, but the announcement of a new movie has put even more of a spotlight on them.
Galactus made his first appearance in the Fantastic Four #48 comic and was defeated for the first time by the same group. So, NetEase would be able to take advantage of the hype around the movie and the new Marvel Rivals characters added to this old rivalry.
Working on an event with exclusive cosmetics based on this feature film and having as its biggest news the villain's arrival in Hero Shooter would certainly take over the debates on social media.
Another curious fact is that Galacta, daughter of the Devourer of Worlds, is the narrator of the Marvel Rivals matches, opening the way for a possible interaction between her and the character.
Dr. Doom

Dr. Doom is another of the Fantastic Four's greatest rivals, and I hope he's released as soon as possible to take advantage of this moment! He's one of the most powerful personalities in this universe and has been gaining more and more popularity, especially after the revelation that he'll be the main villain in the sequel of the Avengers saga, and will be played by none other than Robert Downey Jr., an actor who's already won over this audience with his incredible years playing the role of Tony Stark.

All of this is essential to attract fans, and we can also mention his sorcerer powers that can bring abilities such as teleportation, shields, hypnosis and summoning demons.
Thanos

And we couldn't finish without mentioning Thanos, one of the greatest villains across all superhero universes. The Titan has been gaining more and more space, especially after the huge success he had in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
His gameplay could literally be whatever the company decides, given that, with control over the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos can alter reality and time. An interesting fact is that he has a rivalry with Adam Warlock, a character already playable in Marvel Rivals. Both competed over the Infinity Stones, but still treated each other as friends in certain situations.

Conclusion
This shows a little of the immense and quality cast that NetEase has at its disposal to include in the game and attract more and more players and audiences. Some events surrounding the rivalries of these villains against their respective heroes would be very interesting.
