Amazon will end support for Lost Ark in the West, but Smilegate will keep the servers running, with major changes for player accounts.

Smilegate will take over Lost Ark's Western servers in early 2027 after Amazon ends its support for the game in the region. The exact transfer date has not yet been announced, but the move will place all of the action MMO's global servers under the original developer's control.

The transition will preserve character progression, unlocks, saved data, wallet balances and the core elements of player accounts. Customer support will change, and players will need to accept a new Smilegate terms-of-service agreement after the transfer.

Not everything will carry over. In-game mail, friends lists, messages and chat history will be deleted. Group names and notes, block-list notes, guild member nicknames and memos, Stronghold gift messages and quiz data will also be removed. Anyone planning to remain in Arkesia should empty their inbox before the new year.

Active subscriptions will be cancelled once the transfer takes place. The 12-month Crystalline Plus subscription has already been removed from the in-game store, while Smilegate is still determining how any remaining prepaid time will be handled.

Official Spanish-language support will end early, with its removal planned for the October 2026 update. After that, Western servers will support English only.

Amazon will also stop operating Lost Ark's Western social-media accounts and official website. In a message to players, the Western team thanked the community for its passion and patience over the past five years, saying the adventure will continue in Arkesia.

The decision comes as Amazon scales back its involvement in MMO development, following the announcement that New World will end service in January.
