Battlefield 6 Season 4 launches this Tuesday (18) with a special collaboration with Top Gun. The update adds new game modes, aircraft, cutscenes, the films’ official soundtrack and limited-time cosmetic rewards.

The update puts greater emphasis on aerial combat with the arrival of the F-74A Seacat and F/A-81F Super Spectre jets. The collaboration also introduces Carrier Strike, a variation on the Titan mode known from Battlefield 2142.

In Carrier Strike, two teams of 32 players are deployed onto a large aircraft carrier. Players must fight over the available jets and boats while preparing an assault on enemy forces. To advance, they must capture missile batteries scattered across the Battlefield 6 map and use them against the opposing carrier.

Once the vessel has taken enough damage, players can breach its structure and plant explosives to end the match.

Another new mode is Fighter Sweep, dedicated almost entirely to aerial combat. Matches take place on the Tsuru Reef map, where players must hit moving targets and complete specific objectives on the ground.

Matches allow players to operate in pairs, with one member focusing on firing at opponents. The cloud system also takes on a strategic role: clouds can provide cover and help players evade guided missiles.

Season 4 replaces the traditional commanders with Rooster, played by Miles Teller, Bob, played by Lewis Pullman, and Warlock, played by Charles Parnell. Wake Island returns with a redesign focused on troop mobility and a large sunken cargo ship at the center of the map.

The Top Gun event will be available until 15 September. Battlefield 6 will also offer a free trial period, beginning this Tuesday and ending on 25 August.
