Amazon has opened an exclusive physical pre-order for Final Fantasy Resonance in Brazil. The new Square Enix RPG costs R$ 278,90 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.The game is set to launch on October 22, 2026. Final Fantasy Resonance will be the first game in the series developed in the HD-2D style, combining pixel-art characters with three-dimensional environments. The project draws from the first arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, but was designed to work as a standalone RPG.The story follows Rain and Lasswell, knights of the Kingdom of Grandshelt who are sent to investigate problems with the barrier protecting the Earth Crystal. There, they encounter Veritas of the Dark, a mysterious warrior clad in black armor.Veritas of the Dark defeats them both and destroys the crystal. After the attack, Rain and Lasswell join Fina in search of the remaining crystals while trying to prevent the threat from spreading across the world.The combat system marks a return to strategic, turn-based battles. This format had not appeared in a new Final Fantasy console game for roughly a decade, since World of Final Fantasy, released in 2016. The system includes a timeline showing the order of actions, along with Stagger mechanics, extra turns and Resonance attacks.The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions will be sold separately. Nintendo has said there will be no upgrade option between the versions, and save data cannot be transferred either.
