Final Fantasy Resonance received a new trailer during Tokyo Game Show 2026. The game is scheduled to launch on October 22 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.The new preview has put Final Fantasy Resonance back on the radar for Square Enix fans just weeks ahead of its planned release across platforms.Square Enix also clarified an important detail for players planning to play on Nintendo consoles: there will be no upgrade, free or paid, from the Nintendo Switch version to the Nintendo Switch 2 edition.That means buying Final Fantasy Resonance on Switch will not automatically grant access to the version for the console’s successor. The company did not outline an alternative upgrade path between the two editions.Save files will also remain separate. According to Square Enix, it will not be possible to transfer saves between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions, a limitation players considering switching platforms should keep in mind.Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series and PC on October 22.
