1666: Amsterdam, a dark action game created by Patrice Désilets, will launch in Early Access on August 25 for PC. The title will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store for US$ 30.

The project spent years tied up in legal disputes between Désilets and Ubisoft before returning to the spotlight. Developed by Panache Digital, 1666: Amsterdam was reintroduced this year with a trailer showing a witch walking through the streets of old Amsterdam and battling enemies with magic and a broomstick.

Panache also released a playable prologue on the same day the game was reintroduced. The demo introduces a story built around interconnected timelines, along with systems and ideas that explore the relationships between the characters.

According to Patrice Désilets, the Early Access version will offer around 10 hours of gameplay, representing less than half of the content planned for the full release. The studio has not publicly set a firm timetable for this phase, although it has an internal completion target. The team is also considering making changes if the community offers new suggestions during development.

The campaign follows Noa, a witch in 1666; Aaron, a civilian in 1999; and one of Noa's descendants in the modern era. Through magic, Aaron and Noa become inseparably linked: in 1666, Aaron becomes Noa's familiar cat, while in 1999, Noa takes on the same role for Aaron. In the present, Noa's descendant investigates the pair's history.

1666: Amsterdam will first arrive on PC through its Early Access versions on Steam and the Epic Games Store on August 25, for US$ 30.
