Nolan North remains willing to play Nathan Drake in a potential Uncharted 5. The actor said he would accept an invitation to return to the series from Sony and revealed that he is trying to stay in shape while waiting for that possibility.Sony has yet to officially announce a new Uncharted project. Naughty Dog, however, has confirmed that it is working on several games. In addition to Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet, the studio is reportedly preparing a new entry in the franchise, with a team led by Shaun Escayg, director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.Speaking at the Gamergy event in Puerto Rico, North said a potential Uncharted 5 could become one of the biggest releases in gaming history. In the actor’s view, Sony’s desire to make money would be one of the decisive factors in moving the project forward.“I think it would be one of the biggest games of all time if they decided to do it,” North said. He also acknowledged that Naughty Dog would need to avoid a poorly received return, comparing the situation to the film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The time since the release of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has also fueled speculation about the series’ future. Ten years have passed since the chapter that brought Nathan Drake’s story to an end, and that gap could make room for a new adventure centered on Cassie, the protagonist’s daughter.North stressed that his connection with the team remains strong after a decade of work. “I try to stay in shape, just in case,” he said. The actor added that he cannot imagine a situation in which he would refuse to return to the role.Meanwhile, Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet is expected to be Naughty Dog’s next game to reach the public. Sony has yet to confirm Uncharted 5, its potential team or any release window.
