Marvel’s Wolverine has sold more than 2.4 million copies, according to Sony. It is the first time the company has released an official sales figure for the game. The total was recorded on November 4, 50 days after launch.

Sony said Wolverine helped improve quarterly results for its gaming division. The company said its experience with the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise helped it develop a different kind of action game.

For comparison, Ghost of Yotei sold 3.3 million copies in 32 days, while Astro Bot reached 1.5 million copies after 58 days. Insomniac’s previous game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, sold 2.5 million copies on its first day, 5 million in 11 days and 10 million in 107 days. The figures cover different periods, but offer a benchmark for tracking Wolverine’s sales from here.

Sony also raised its sales forecast by 6% for its Game & Network Services segment, which includes PlayStation. The company attributed the revision to stronger sales of games from other publishers. It raised its profit forecast for the division by the same amount, also citing lower costs and revenue from network services such as PlayStation Plus.

Elsewhere across PlayStation, Sony said monthly active users rose 7% in September compared with the same month of the previous fiscal year, reaching 127 million accounts—a record for the month. PS5 sales continue to decline, as the company had expected at this stage of the console’s life cycle.

The company also said it plans to step up preparations for its next platform. It gave no details about the new hardware in the statement cited.
