Gears of War: E-Day will launch for Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 6. The game marks the franchise’s first major release in seven years and serves as a prequel to Gears of War, the title that started the series.The game will launch at 15h UTC. Players who purchase the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade Edition or Collector’s Edition will be able to start the campaign early, beginning October 1 at the same time.The download size has not yet been confirmed. Gears of War: E-Day is expected to take up around 100 GB, but the exact figure will only become clear when preloading begins on September 29.The standard edition will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting October 6. The day-one release will be available to PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. The game will not be included in the Game Pass Essential, Premium or Starter plans; for the Premium plan, the indicated release window is October 2027.Players who purchase Gears of War: E-Day digitally will also be able to switch between console and PC through Xbox Play Anywhere. The feature allows them to play on both platforms without having to purchase separate versions.The new chapter will be exclusive to Xbox and PC. There will be no native versions for Xbox One, PlayStation 5 or Switch 2.
