Released on July 16, Final Fantasy XIV's patch 7.01 brought the first Raid content from the MMORPG's new expansion, Dawntrail, and with it, a musical collaboration with the lead singer of the band Against the Current, Chrissy Constanza.
The Arcadion features raids where up to eight players face the challenges of a tournament set in a gigantic arena featured in the Dawntrail plot, being one of the expansion's first "post-game" content. The theme song for the final battle, titled Give It All, features the voice of Chrissy Constanza and is performed by the official Final Fantasy XIV band, The Primals. The song will be part of the album “Riding Home” scheduled for release on September 7, 2024.

In an interview with Square Enix, Costanza gave a more in-depth insight into her experience as a gamer, her relationship with the Final Fantasy franchise, her thoughts on how games and music combine, where she stated her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that having his music included in a series title is a “dream come true”, calling the experience “completely surreal”.
“I’ve been both a musician and a gamer my entire life and love both worlds so much. I think music is the foundation of so much of the world, whether it’s the soundtrack of movies or just playing in a store while you’re shopping, it can completely change the emotional landscape of your experience. Gaming itself is an immersive experience - video games can be exhilarating, exciting, scary, sad, awe-inspiring and more. Pairing the right music with the right game just completely enhances the player’s experience, and also brings the game out into the real world. It’s more than just a song, it’s more than just a game.”

Against the Current is a New York band formed in 2011 and consists of vocalist Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Dan Gow and drummer Will Ferri. It already has a history with games through the song Legends Never Die, the theme for the 2017 League of Legends World Championship.
It's also not the first time Final Fantasy XIV has partnerships with rock bands: the song Endwalker - Footfalls, theme of the Endwalker expansion trailer, features Sam Carter, from the alternative metal band Architects, on vocals.
Dawntrail is the new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV and marks the beginning of the new arc in the MMORPG's main story. In it, players set out on a journey across the far lands of Tural, where they get involved in a political plot surrounding the rites of succession to the throne and the appointment of the new Dawnservant.
