After nearly three years in Early Access, Enshrouded has reached version 1.0. The update completes the construction of Embervale’s map and wraps up the game’s main storyline, although Keen Games GmbH says that new chapters may be added in the future.

With the map now complete, the main quest takes players through regions they have not yet visited. Progression has also been expanded: characters can now reach level 50, while equipment can reach level 55.

Another highlight is the story content scattered throughout the world. Letters, notes, books and other narrative elements now feature full voice acting in English, German and Mandarin.

Version 1.0 also adds advanced adventure sharing through the Sparkworks logic system. Players can use it to create their own experiences in their worlds, ranging from simple interactions such as light switches to dungeons filled with traps, puzzles and enemy encounters.

The update brings visual changes to the biomes, giving each one its own lighting and more pronounced differences from the others. The rendering system has been improved, while characters have received new animations to enhance their appearance.

Enshrouded has also gained new spells, along with adjustments to combat and existing magic. Keen Games GmbH has included several other changes in the package as well, detailed in the update notes, which bring a range of new features to version 1.0.
