Pearl Abyss has unveiled the main features of Charting the Unknown, a Crimson Desert DLC that expands exploration across Pywel. It will add stories for Kliff, Damiane and Oongka, alongside shipbuilding, relationships, business management and more ways to build a home.

Each of the three playable characters will follow their own path, encountering familiar and new allies and threats. New cutscenes will advance their individual stories.

The DLC also opens up Pywel's Great Ocean. Once players have established the Greymanes' camp, they can unlock shipbuilding, gather resources and customize a vessel before setting sail. At sea, they will find battles, rewards and opportunities to establish new Greymanes outposts. Players will also be able to craft a diving suit and explore underwater ruins for treasure and resources.

On land, trust with certain characters can develop into romance and even marriage. Bari, the Witch of Kindness, is among the potential partners. Close companions can also visit the Greymanes' camp to spend time together.

The home-building system will let players design their residence's structure, including walls and windows. They can claim liberated castles and decorate their interiors. Players interested in Pywel's commerce can rent premises, assign companions and equipment, and choose products to sell, with the aim of increasing each business's reputation and profits.

For those who prefer combat, the expansion will include a challenge featuring successive fights against Pywel's bosses, with rewards for strong performances. Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown launches on October 29, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
