Last Wednesday (25) marked the beginning of Act 4 of Season 2025 in Valorant. Fans received a new map called Corrode, as well as a new Battle Pass and more balance changes.
We at UmGamer are playing the new update with a focus on working on this content, where you’ll see which are the best characters in Act 4 according to our opinion. Check it out!
Best Initiators for the 2025 Season
Sova

In addition to being strong, Sova is a relatively easy initiator, which makes him stand out and appear on today's list. A newcomer to shooters won't need to have perfect aim to climb the ranks with Sova, but I recommend studying the maps and pixels to use his skills, this will increase the effectiveness of his Recon Bolt, especially the Shock Bolt.
Knowing when and where to use your skills will already put you well ahead of other initiators in the game. I'm sure that Sova can be essential to take you to the highest ranks in Valorant, and data from platforms like u.gg and vstats.gg validate this option, as they show the agent leading the win rates of the initiator role.
Fade
Ad

Another agent capable of transforming matches without standing out in gunfights. Fade often leaves enemies with difficulty seeing and hearing, in addition to being able to track them.
On her own, she is above the curve, but at levels such as Bronze or Iron she may not be as well exploited. At a high level, your team will be able to gain an extreme advantage in these conditions, making Fade practically indispensable above Ascendant.
Best Duelists for the 2025 Season
Phoenix

Phoenix is one of the few agents who’s indisputably superior in all elos. Even though he received a small nerf to his bang, he has a difficulty level well below characters like Neon and Jett and manages to perform better.
He also shines in higher ranked matches, his flexibility is one of the main keys. He still lacks a high movement, but the ability to heal himself - or come back to life with his Ultimate -, to deny enemy vision with his bang or wall, and the high damage with his firebomb make him an almost complete duelist.

Reyna

Despite being well positioned when analyzing lists and Win Rate data on the internet, Reyna is really recommended for low elo. She has great numbers in the lower ranks, even surpassing Phoenix, but from Diamond or Ascendant onwards she becomes more predictable.
Reyna's abilities have more impact if you get a kill first, and there are few tools that help you get a first kill. Her bang - the main way to enter the bomb region - has never been one of the best, and she even faced a significant nerf in this act, losing 20% of her health.
But against Iron, Bronze and Silver opponents you can stand out more. Bad positioning or inaccurate shots can help you get a kill, enabling your Q and E. Her Ultimate is also more effective in low ranks, where shootouts with longer durations are normal.
Best Sentinels for the 2025 Season
Sage

Sage is in the same situation as Sova, the sentinel is very useful even when she doesn't have a weapon in her hand. Her healing and barriers will help you hold off the enemy advance while your team can reposition and work on new strategies to win.
In an unfavorable or tense situation, resurrecting someone with your Ultimate takes off some of the pressure and the need to hit the shots. That's why I recommend her mainly to beginners, especially because her kit is relatively simple.
Unlike Reyna, Sage's performance doesn't decrease much as she advances in rank. So, she's a good choice for a journey that goes from the lower ranks to Ascendant or higher.
Vyse

If the last options were designed for beginners, now the focus is on more experienced players. Vyse demands a lot of agility in all of her skills. Sage, for example, places her wall instantly, while Vyse's will only activate after someone has already entered the area, and you’ll have to deal with an advanced enemy.
In addition, this character's bang and Razorvine are only activated by you manually, unlike Cypher's wire, which can always hit enemies. This will require you to have extensive knowledge about the movement of players in a match to activate the traps at the best possible moment.
However, the result it delivers is compatible with its difficulty. The character, even acting as a sentinel, has a high capacity to work as an initiator and open bomb regions with the attacking duelists. Whether with her bang or with her Ultimate, which literally prohibits opponents from attacking with their primary weapon.

This fact makes even more sense after analyzing the game's statistics and realizing that Vyse has lower win rates up to Platinum. If you’re starting out as a sentinel, go for Sage.
Best Controllers for the 2025 Season
Clove

Clove has arguably the best results, not only in Act 4, but in the entire year! This agent has been standing out for some time now and continues to have the highest win rate of the entire Valorant roster. Sites like u.gg and vstats.gg confirm this by showing numbers that range between 52 and 54% success.
Despite being very popular - and the most used in the class -, consequently reaching new or casual players, Clove still maintains these metrics. There aren’t many explanations, this agent is simply very strong.
You’ll have several ways to resist shots, whether with the survival of Pick-Me-Up or, literally, coming back to life with the Ultimate. Clove also has a grenade that deteriorates enemies for a while, being one of the most powerful tools for combat - especially when compared to other controllers. Her smokes are a differential, in addition to returning to availability over time, we can also use them even after suffering a kill.
Overall, Clove is easy to play and has a complete arsenal of abilities. I just recommend that you practice your shooting beforehand, eliminating enemies will be key to getting the most out of Pick-Me-Up and the Ultimate.

Brimstone

Brimstone is included in this article for the simple reason that we’re listing the two best in each role in the game - since Clove is indispensable. After analyzing millions of Platinum+ matches, u.gg came to these conclusions:

48.5% isn't considered a good number to illustrate an agent's success, but in a meta that doesn't favor most controllers, Brimstone can be a second option if you don't want to play Clove.
An easy agent with great area utility with his stim. His ultimate is also relatively simple to use, being extremely impactful in clutch situations.
Conclusion
The meta has already seen some changes compared to the beginning of Season 2025. Tejo is no longer as dominant as he was in his first weeks after release, making room for other initiators. Simpler Duelists, such as Phoenix and Reyna, are performing well. Finally, Clove continues to be irreplaceable in competitive queues and deserves your attention.
