Gears of War: E-Day has reached one of the key milestones ahead of its release. The Coalition confirmed that the game has gone “gold,” a term used to indicate that the version is ready to be pressed onto discs and made available for download.Pre-loading will begin on 29 September, allowing players to download the full game before early access and the worldwide launch. The download will become available at 8 a.m. Pacific Time, 11 a.m. Eastern Time and 4 p.m. Brasília time.Early access to Gears of War: E-Day begins on 1 October, while the full launch takes place on 6 October. Both dates will begin at 8 a.m. Pacific Time, or 15:00 Coordinated Universal Time.Pre-loading will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. Players who access the game through Game Pass or have pre-ordered it will also be able to download the files in advance and start playing as soon as their respective access becomes available.The Coalition described the “gold” status as an important development milestone, but the studio is still expected to work on tweaks, polish and other improvements until the game arrives. The team also released the complete PC system requirements.Gears of War: E-Day will support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to use their purchase across compatible devices in the Xbox ecosystem. The Premium and Premium Upgrade editions grant early access starting on 1 October, while the worldwide launch takes place on 6 October.
