Blizzard will launch Diablo 4's Season of Hell's Legacy on September 15. The season celebrates the franchise's 30th anniversary and also marks the game's debut on Nintendo Switch 2.Announced during the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony, the season brings Deckard Cain back into the story. The character's spirit warns that echoes of the original three Prime Evils have resurfaced in Sanctuary: Diablo, Baal and Mephisto.Each demon will appear in an area associated with earlier games in the series: Tristram Cathedral, Arreat Peak and the Durance of Hate. Players who defeat one will receive a Soul Splinter, an item that lets them wield part of that enemy's power. However, the benefit comes with increased vulnerability to that same demon.Season of Hell's Legacy will also permanently add nine new Legacy Uniques to Diablo 4, including the return of the Stone of Jordan. The update will also feature Waking Nightmares, enemy encounters that recreate specific moments from the franchise's past.The content will go live at 5:30 p.m. UK time on September 15. On the same date, Diablo 4 will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 through the Age of Hatred Collection, which includes the base game and the Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred expansions. The version will support cross-play and shared progression with other platforms.Blizzard also confirmed that the Amazon will be added to Diablo 4, marking the class's first appearance in the game. It is scheduled for the first half of 2027 and will use bows and spears, with four builds: Champion, Skirmisher, Ranger and Commander.
