On March 13th, we had a new "Live Letter" with news about what's coming to Final Fantasy XIV. For those who recently joined the game, "Live Letters" are live streams where the game's development team shares what they're preparing for the next patch, with patch 7.5 being the first part scheduled for release in April and the second part in September.Below, we detail the main new features that players will see starting April 28th!Main Scenario QuestsSource: Live Letter 91As usual, we have a continuation of the main story. As with every recent main story update, there will also be a new dungeon called Clyteum.Source: Live Letter 91SocietiesSource: Live Letter 91If you complete the journey through all three societies of Dawntrail, this patch will include a mission that unites them, unlocking new items to sell to their merchants.HildibrandThe Extraordinary Detective returns, bringing even more chaos with him.Custom DeliveriesNew custom delivery. If you’re unsure what a custom delivery is, we recommend consulting our Crafting Guide and our Gathering Guide.PVP UpdatesWith the arrival of a new major patch, the current PVP season will end, and the pseudo-pass rewards will no longer be obtainable. Therefore, if there's anything you're interested in, it's best to farm it quickly. Additionally, a new map for the Crystalline Conflict mode has been announced:Yes, we'll fight in a library now.Alliance RaidsThe final raid in the series in collaboration with FFXI.In this Alliance Raid, we’ll finally see the conclusion of the crossover saga with Final Fantasy XI, the other MMO RPG in the franchise.Trials and UnrealEnuo will be the new level 100 trial. And our old friend shall return as Unreal.Occult Crescent and RelicsNew stage for Phantom Weapons.New Map for the Field Operation. This new map will feature new Fates, new enemies, and new Critical Engagements, as well as a new maximum level within the instance and eight new Phantom Jobs. For veterans of the Final Fantasy series, some of them are already recognizable. But what is a Phantom Job?Finally, this new area will feature a new Fork Tower: Magic, which will serve as the endgame raid for this instance. Unlike its first iteration, it will have a normal mode.- To join the raid, simply step on the aether node when it’s active; up to 48 players can participate.- Regarding the Ciphers used in the first Fork Tower, only in Extreme mode will there be an entry fee.New Job: BeastmasterYes, a whole new job!Starting at level 1 and capped at level 50, Beastmaster will join the Blue Mage as a Limited Job, this time in the Melee DPS category. To access Beastmaster, you must’ve completed the base campaign of ARR (A Realm Reborn) and purchased the Dawntrail expansion. As the name suggests, the class gains new functions by capturing beasts across the map.Similar to their compatriot the Blue Mage, the Beastmaster possesses a book that will guide them to which monsters can be captured. It was pointed out that all monsters can be captured by playing alone. The abilities will depend on which monster you have as a companion, and you can have up to three companions simultaneously. The Crucible of the Unbroken will function similarly to the Masked Carnivale in Blue Mage, with fights specifically designed for the Beastmaster.Crafting and GatheringNew Ocean Fishing RouteSource: Live Letter 91New Cosmic Exploration PlanetSource: Live Letter 91Don't know what Cosmic Exploration is? Check out our complete guide on it!HousingThis update was brief, but with a huge impact. All variations of player homes will now receive a 50% increase in the number of items that can be placed inside and outside them. For example, if you have an apartment, the current limit is one hundred objects; after the patch, it will increase to one hundred and fifty. This also applies to the slots for stored items.Comparison on the increase of items. Are you interested in housing now? Check out ourHousing Guide.GlamourConsolidation of the dyesIf you've ever built a Glamour, you've probably noticed the number of color variations available for painting the various pieces in the game. With that in mind, the more than one hundred paint options will be grouped into three items, varying between Type A, Type B, and Type C, to save inventory space for players.Still confused? Let me explain further: all 85 paints sold by NPCs and similar vendors will become a single item, the aforementioned Type A. Following this logic, all paints sold at Ishgardian Restoration will become Type B, and the paints from Cosmic Exploration will be Type C. With this change, the current dyes will become obsolete and can no longer be used. However, these are the paints that will be the exception to the rule mentioned above. But what do I do with the paints that are already in my inventory?ConclusionWith the arrival of the highly anticipated Limited Job Beastmaster, the expansion of the Housing system, and the simplification of the dye system, this patch appears to bring a lot of interesting content. Stay tuned for the patch notes to reveal what players have really been prepared for.
