Polyphony Digital has revealed the next major update for Gran Turismo 7. Called Spec IV, it will mark Autumn Ring's return to the series after 13 years, while also adding a dozen cars, the real-world Sportsland Sugo circuit and other features.

The update will be released in two parts before the end of 2026. The first will arrive in October, while the second is scheduled for December.

The first package will include Sportsland Sugo, a circuit in Japan's Miyagi Prefecture that currently hosts rounds of the Super GT and Super Formula championships. It will also add six cars, a new Vintage section for models that are no longer available to buy as new vehicles in Gran Turismo, and the Car Concierge feature, which will let players order used cars and Legend models.

This phase will also introduce new driving challenges, a car viewer and an increased Collector Level cap.

Autumn Ring will be held back for the second part of Spec IV, alongside six more cars. The track first appeared in the original Gran Turismo and most recently featured in Gran Turismo 6, released in 2013. In Gran Turismo 7, the circuit will include its original layout and a new configuration described as “significantly expanded”.

The second package will also add Family mode, designed for inexperienced players, and Shuffle Race, a luck-based event featuring randomly selected cars. The update will be rounded out by online drift events and a new difficulty level in Power Pack.

The announcement was made during PlayStation's latest State of Play, which also showcased news about other games and products. Gran Turismo 7 will receive the first part of Spec IV in October and the second in December 2026.
