Until Dawn 2 has bolstered its narrative team. AdHoc Studio, the developer behind Dispatch, has joined forces with Firesprite Games to write the script for the PS5 horror sequel.

The partnership was announced in a post on the PlayStation Blog, which also confirmed the game's release date: January 28, 2027. The team described the adventure as a story filled with complex characters, sharp dialogue, tense relationships and difficult decisions, all accompanied by brutal deaths.

The collaboration brings together two studios known for branching narratives. Dispatch earned critical praise for its episodic storyline and its different possible outcomes. The original Until Dawn, which first launched on PS4, also became known for a plot shaped by choices that could alter the course of events.

In the sequel, players will follow a team of ambitious ghost hunters determined to turn their next investigation into a viral sensation. The group travels to a remote island haunted by the disturbing story of a woman who claims to have encountered demons and supernatural phenomena.

When those accounts begin to manifest in terrifying ways, the team must confront their own fears and any other threat standing in the way of their escape. Each character's life will be in the player's hands, with interactions and decisions capable of triggering dramatic consequences.

Firesprite Games is leading development on Until Dawn 2, while AdHoc Studio is working on the narrative. The Dispatch studio is also producing a second season of the episodic series.

Until Dawn 2 will be released exclusively for PS5 on January 28, 2027.
