The Pokémon Company confirms the end of Pokémon Bank and urges players to transfer their Pokémon to Pokémon Home before the deadline.

The Pokémon Company will shut down Pokémon Bank on February 27, 2027. The date marks the end of the Nintendo 3DS app, which still allows players to transfer stored Pokémon to Pokémon Home.

Anyone with Pokémon stored in Pokémon Bank will need to transfer them before the service closes. After that deadline, it will no longer be possible to send Pokémon from Bank to Pokémon Home.

Pokémon Home will remain active after the 3DS service shuts down. The platform will also add support for Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, which will be added to the Switch eShop in October.

Transfers involving the two games will be subject to restrictions. Pokémon sent from FireRed and LeafGreen to other titles will not be able to return, and Pokémon from other games will not be transferable to the FireRed and LeafGreen versions.

Completing the Pokédex in both games will earn players a reward in the Pokémon Home mobile app: Celebi can be redeemed by players who complete this objective.

The 2027 schedule also includes the release of Pokémon Winds & Waves for Switch 2. The Pokémon Company has not yet revealed many details about the game.
