Metaphor: ReFantazio now has a free demo for Nintendo Switch 2. The trial version lets players experience the opening section of Atlus’ RPG, offering a taste of the adventure before they buy the full game.

Progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full version of Metaphor: ReFantazio. This means anyone who decides to continue the journey will not have to replay the opening content they already completed in the trial.

The release makes the opening chapter of the award-winning RPG available to players on Nintendo’s new console. The announcement does not provide a specific release date for the demo or any additional details about its content beyond this initial section.

The ability to carry over progress directly connects the trial experience with the full edition. Players can begin the adventure through the demo and keep their progress if they move on to the full game.

Metaphor: ReFantazio was developed by Atlus, the studio behind the RPG mentioned in the announcement. The free demo is available on Nintendo Switch 2, but the material does not provide further details about any differences between this version and the full edition.

For anyone who has not yet started the RPG, the demo serves as an entry point through the opening chapter. It lets players experience the beginning of Metaphor: ReFantazio while preserving their progress in the full version, keeping the trial experience connected to the main campaign.

The announcement also does not provide the demo’s price, download size or availability window. The only confirmed information is that Nintendo Switch 2 players can try the opening chapter for free and transfer their progress to the full game.
