Gran Turismo 7 continues to sell extremely well on PS5, even as it approaches its fifth anniversary. The performance has surprised even series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, who attributes the community’s continued growth to the steady stream of content and game modes.“Gran Turismo 7 is still selling extremely well, but we didn’t expect that from the outset. We continue to provide additional content and game modes because there is a user base that keeps growing,” Yamauchi said. The result stands out because Gran Turismo 7 is one of the few Sony games that has never been included with PS Plus. The community is therefore expanding through traditional sales, although the title occasionally receives discounts on the PlayStation Store. The next major addition will be the first phase of the Spec 4 update, which is arriving soon. The package will add six cars and the Sportsland Sugo circuit. This will only be the first stage of the planned content, with more additions scheduled for December. The update reflects Gran Turismo 7’s growth and keeps the simulator active in the PS5 catalog. The game continues to receive new features as its player base grows, a situation that is also fueling speculation about the franchise’s future. One of the community’s hopes is the possible return of B-Spec mode, a feature focused on managing motorsport events. The idea would allow players to take on a role more closely tied to race management, but there is no indication that the feature will be added.Gran Turismo 7 also remains one of Sony’s leading first-party productions on PS5. The game has yet to receive confirmation of a successor, while the first phase of Spec 4 is arriving with six cars and the Sportsland Sugo circuit, followed by more content in December.
