The Gears of War: E-Day open beta will feature an important new addition for fans: PvP versus modes will also be available during the test, although for a limited time. The confirmation came from the official Gears of War account on X after players asked for the opportunity to try out this type of match.

Early access begins on August 6 for those who pre-ordered the game. During the first two days, however, the beta will only include the content initially expected, including Horde mode. PvP versus will be added starting on August 8, still during this first stage of the test.

After the weekend ends, the beta will resume on August 13 and remain available until August 17. This second phase will be open to everyone, regardless of whether they pre-ordered. The beta's official FAQ page states that both periods will feature the same content, indicating that PvP will also be available during the second round.

In addition to testing the modes, participants will be able to unlock rewards to use in the full game when it launches. The prizes include various customization options.

The inclusion of PvP responds to the community's interest, as players had been waiting for a practical demonstration of the mode for some time. Until then, Horde had been the beta's main known highlight, and early impressions of the experience had already raised several questions among players.

With the arrival of versus, Gears of War: E-Day will offer a broader sample of its overall vision during the test. Even so, participation in PvP will be limited to the beta period, making the dates from August 8 to 17 especially important for anyone who wants to try the competitive matches.
