New Quests, Society and Custom Deliveries

Final Fantasy XIV’s patch 7.1 has been officially announced, revealing its title - Crossroads - and indicating that the update will delve deeper into the events which transformed the area known as "Heritage Found". Additionally, it has been announced that patch 7.1 is expected to be released in mid-November this year, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed.

It’s necessary to have at least one crafter at level 60 to unlock Custom Deliveries.

  • Patch 7.1 will also have a sort of Prologue for Hildibrand's quest sequence in the Dawntrail zones

    Features

  • The “New Game+” function will now be extended to cover the content of patch 7.0. In other words, it will be possible to replay Dawntrail's main quests.

  • It was announced that “Duty Support” will be slowly implemented in dungeons that are not mandatory for the MSQ (Main Story), starting in 7.1 with the Halatali dungeon;

  • The Hall of Novice will gain a kind of “Graduation Course”, in which it will be taught common mechanics to veterans, such as, for example, “Stacks”, “Tankbursters” and “Towers”. Now, newcomers will have a dedicated area to understand this type of mechanics and how to survive them!

    PVP adjustments

  • PVP will receive some very significant changes. All jobs, except for Pictomancer and Viper, will receive at least one new action;

  • According to Yoshi-P himself, the game director and Black Mage main, the job will change a lot;

  • In addition, job will receive potency adjustments to attacks and healing.

  • Frontline will receive a major update, but it will only be revealed in the next Live Letter.

    Finally, Unreals will return!

  • Unreals are old trials reworked and updated to the current level. In other words, it's taking a fight tothe current maximum level, updating it here and there and making it compatible with the skills we have now. They will return in Patch 7.1.

  • As a reward, you can have tea with a noble fox in Iddlyshire, twice a week, and exchange for points to buy mounts and other accessories

    Chaotic Alliance Raids

  • I set this topic aside just to emphasize that we will have a new activity category with the acronym “Chaotic”. From what has been said, this new type of content seeks to create “Extreme” level challenges for 24 players.

  • The first Alliance Raid to receive this treatment will be World of Darkness. We still don't know whether it will be all encounters or just the Cloud of Darkness itself.

    New Ultimate

  • Ultimate is the maximum level of difficulty that FFXIV offers in an activity, consisting of multiple level with overlapping mechanics and, depending on the Ultimate, very little room for error.

    Housing

  • If you have a house, you know how annoying it is to have to furnish and create themes having to accept the existence of fixed support pillars, right? Not anymore. With this patch, these pillars can be removed, greatly expanding the options.

    Mahjong

  • Apparently, now the Scions who play Mahjong will have voice acting, with commentary during the games.

    Conclusion

    I admit that I ended up looking forward to the changes to PVP. Black Mage has been my main job there, and knowing that it's going to change a lot excites me. Regarding PVE, the return of Unreals was something which had been expected by the community for a long time.

    Another highlight is how Patch 7.1 can give a perspective on what to expect from the future of Final Fantasy XIV by looking at the past: the origin of the Heritage Found could be the first step towards understanding more about the fragment in which it was located.
