EA has confirmed that the leaked Iron Man video is real, showing flight, combat, armour customisation and a visit to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Electronic Arts has confirmed that leaked footage from Marvel’s Iron Man, the game being developed by Motive, is legitimate. An unauthorized version of a trailer surfaced online on Friday, featuring cutscenes and gameplay footage still in development.

Confirmation came through the game's official X account. Responding to the video, EA wrote: “Well, that didn't go as planned. But now you know, and we've got a lot more to show you. See you when we're ready.” The message acknowledges the leak and suggests the company plans to share more details when it feels the time is right.

Running for roughly two and a half minutes, the footage shows Tony Stark flying over what appears to be New York City and fighting enemies on the ground and in the air. It also includes a visit to the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, which can be seen moving through the sky.

The footage shows a game still in production, with low-resolution textures and unfinished scenes. Even so, the flight sequences stand out: Stark moves at high speed and uses different features of his armor during battles.

The suit is equipped with rockets, cluster missiles and repulsor blasts. The video also features melee combat, including moves that let players pummel enemies, throw them and slam them into walls. The video confirms that the leak shows Motive's real project, rather than a fan creation.

The footage also suggests the armor will have a customization system, something that fits Stark's personality and his habit of modifying his own equipment. The character's appearance resembles his Marvel Cinematic Universe version, but Tony Stark does not appear to have been modeled after Robert Downey Jr.

The trailer carries the label “Aug26 Test” and displays placeholder text for its release window. The leaked footage therefore does not reveal an official release date for Marvel’s Iron Man.
