Crimson Moon already has a confirmed date to arrive on PS5: September 1st. The gothic-looking action RPG, announced during February's State of Play, previously had only a September release window.Developed by ProbablyMonsters, the game will sell for $19.99 in its standard edition. There will also be a Deluxe Edition for $29.99, which includes access to a future post-launch content expansion and cosmetic DLC items.In Crimson Moon, the player takes the form of a Nephilim, a human-angel hybrid created to defend humanity from hell. The premise puts this character against creatures such as demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations.The adventure focuses on soulslike-inspired melee combat. Matches will be structured around violent, replayable runs, with hordes that evolve throughout the experience and confrontations against bosses called Dead Gods.In addition to facing the infernal threat alone, it will be possible to team up with another player through online co-op. The combination of weapons, supernatural powers, and combat abilities will be a central part of the fight against enemies.The launch takes place during a busy week for action games with weapon-based combat. The Blood of Dawnwalker is scheduled for two days later, while Onimusha: Way of the Sword arrives three days after Crimson Moon.For those looking for a lower-priced action RPG with a dark atmosphere and a focus on replayable runs, Crimson Moon will have little time to show its potential before other names in the genre arrive.
