Ubisoft says no other Assassin’s Creed remakes are in active development. In a statement about the series’ future, the company said its teams are focused on upcoming games in the franchise, including unannounced projects with new settings and stories. The statement stands out because, in 2024, CEO Yves Guillemot said Ubisoft studios were developing remakes—plural. At the time, he said the projects would let players revisit older games in the series, updated for modern audiences. The new statement indicates that no other remake is currently in active production. The shift in focus follows the performance of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which sold more than 3.5 million copies and exceeded its full-year sales expectations in its first 14 days. Even so, Ubisoft has not ruled out returning to its back catalogue: the company says it will continue exploring opportunities to bring older titles back. That is not, however, an announcement of another project.Upcoming games include Codename Invictus, described as a PvP multiplayer Assassin’s Creed experience. The project is led by a team at Ubisoft Montreal that includes For Honor veterans, but the company has yet to show how it plays.Ubisoft Montreal is also developing Assassin’s Creed Hexe, described as a darker, narrative-focused experience. Jean Guesdon, who oversees the franchise, said Ubisoft is taking more time to realize its vision for the game and will have more to say about it later. The company has not announced a release date for Invictus or Hexe.According to Eurogamer.
