Freja arrived together with Season 16, but fans had the privilege of playing as her even before the official launch, during the testing period that took place at the end of March. We at UmGamer have played her and worked on this complete guide to help you understand more about Overwatch 2's new DPS. Check it out!

Freja's Abilities
Freja is a DPS who brings ability resets and high movement, all of which highlights a character with mechanics that demand more speed than usual. Despite this, she’s great in long-distance combat, and is also effective in escapes or chases.
Passive: Bounty Hunting
Freja is a hunter and this is clearly shown in her passive. Killing three enemies with the final blow will grant you a bonus charge for her Ultimate.
Revdraw Crossbow
This is her main attack, where Freja fires projectiles (bolts) quickly with her crossbow. An important piece of information is that the shot has no damage decay when it hits enemies who are further away, just like Hanzo, which makes her effective in eliminating opponents who are fleeing.

Take Aim
Take Aim is her secondary shot and the character's main source of damage. By holding down the right mouse button, Freja aims with her crossbow and, by pressing the left one, she’ll fire an explosive projectile.
Since there’s an area damage effect after the bolt’s launched, we can use the skill as an area control tool, shooting at the ground to prevent an opponent from advancing or retreating.
Another point worth mentioning is that, for a few seconds after activating the scope, you’ll have a significant reduction in your movement speed, allowing you to stay in the air for longer.
There’s only one bolt in the Take Aim magazine, and you’ll need to reload it after each shot. However, the skill we’ll see below can help with this.
Quick Dash

A relatively simple skill, Freja just moves quickly in one direction. However, in addition to the high mobility, Quick Dash also automatically reloads Take Aim ammunition. Watch the video to see how fast we shoot if we combine our secondary fire with this dash.
Updraft
Another resource designed to help Freja move around. Updraft is a huge jump that can be very well-used to give us a better view and help find that one enemy who’s fleeing.
In the video below, you’ll be able to see in practice how Take Aim can help you stay positioned in the sky for longer.
Bola Shot

Her Ultimate has a pretty self-explanatory name, Freja throws a bola shot that deals damage and gathers enemies together. When they’re closer, the Take Aim explosions will be potentialized.
This is still a projectile, so be careful with barriers such as D.Va's shield and other protections, as they nullify the shot.
Minor Perks
With the new Overwatch 2 update, heroes gain new features when they reach levels 2 and 3. First, we must select one of two minor perks.
Freja has the following effects as options for Minor Perk:

I believe that Tracking Instinct has everything it needs to establish itself as the best Minor Perk for the character. I didn't use the standard attack much during my gameplay with her, and as a good hunter, having the location of injured enemies revealed to you helps a lot in getting more kills.
However, in situations where area control and denying advances become essential, Frost Bolts will be the best choice.
Major Perks
Upon reaching level 3, two more perks will appear.
Freja has the following options for Major Perks:
Once again, I think that investing resources in a standard attack perk isn’t worth it, so I mainly recommend "Ready to Hunt". Having an extra use of Quick Dash also means recharging Take Aim automatically again.

Playstyle - Which compositions do Freja fit into?
To our eyes, a well-played Freja will be able to add to all the main compositions: Brawl, Dive and Poke. However, despite her high mobility, Freja may be less effective in dive teams, since her lack of damage decay makes her more suited to long-range combat and Poke teams.
Brawl strategies, on the other hand, consist of keeping opponents close. Thus, Freja's explosive darts will do more damage, not to mention that Bola Shot will also help keep your composition’s focus.

Freja works well with
Heroes like Mauga, Orisa and Mei can nullify enemy movement and gather them together in a small area. With them positioned like this, we’ll be able to get more out of our explosions and Ultimate.

In addition, they’re also known for stopping enemy advances, which will help us keep the combat long-ranged.

Freja is bad against
On the other hand, most characters who affect your movement, such as Sombra, Cassidy, Orisa and Doomfist, can be a problem. Not only will we lose the movement we need to escape abilities, but we’ll also have less damage without the automatic Take Aim recharges.

Conclusion
Freja is another hero who’s being treated by fans as Blizzard’s hit, fun to play and with a good level of difficulty, she’ll certainly bring us hours of fun. I hope this article has helped you, feel free to use the comments tab if you have any questions or suggestions.
