Anyone who enjoys completing games on Xbox may have a new goal to pursue in 2026. The platform plans to implement a system equivalent to PlayStation's Platinum Trophy, rewarding players who unlock all the achievements in a title. The confirmation came from Asha Sharma, CEO of Xbox. The new feature is expected to arrive alongside other updates to the achievement system, although details about how it will work have not yet been revealed. On Xbox, achievements have been part of the brand since the launch of the Xbox 360 in 2005. By progressing through a campaign or completing specific challenges, players receive Gamerscore points and records displayed on their profiles. The feature helped turn optional tasks, difficult objectives, and secrets into extra reasons to return to games. On PlayStation, trophies follow a similar logic, but offer a special reward to those who collect all the trophies available in a game: the Platinum Trophy. Now, Xbox intends to create its own recognition for completionists. It has not yet been decided whether this reward will add points to Gamerscore or work independently, serving only as a mark of complete achievement. In general, games have a limit of 1,000 Gamerscore points, except in cases such as collections or additional content. There is also no confirmation about whether the system will be applied retroactively. In other words, it remains to be seen whether previously released games will be eligible for the new reward or whether the feature will apply only to future titles. For the community that has long been asking for a final goal in achievement lists, the change promises to give the pursuit of 100% completion on Xbox a new level of significance.
