June closed as one of the strongest months of the year for those following major releases. PlayStation, Xbox, Square Enix, Capcom, and Rockstar drove the conversation with games that should dominate the next hype cycles, pre-orders, and technical discussions.
In this special article, we have gathered some of the main announcements that took over showcases, the streets, and social media, since GTA VI is hotter than ever!
Marvel's Wolverine in the Spotlight
Marvel's Wolverine reappeared as one of the PS5's main exclusives. Insomniac Games showed more violent, direct gameplay focused on Logan's brutality, with combat based on techniques, rage, and a healing factor.
The game arrives on PS5 on September 15, 2026, and is already available for pre-order. With its more mature tone, Wolverine has become one of Sony's strongest bets to sustain the generation's first-party calendar.
God of War Laufey Shows the Franchise's Future
God of War Laufey was presented as the next main chapter in Santa Monica Studio's franchise. The game places Faye as the protagonist and opens a new path for the God of War universe after Ragnarök.
The story takes place in Everywhen, a kind of afterlife of the gods where figures from different mythologies compete for power. With this, the franchise gains room to explore new layers of lore without relying solely on Kratos and Atreus's path.
Gears of War: E-Day Becomes Xbox's Technical Showcase
Gears of War: E-Day stood out as one of Microsoft's biggest bets for 2026. The game will be released on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud, Steam, and Game Pass Ultimate on day one — no PS5, since it is an exclusive.
The prequel takes place 14 years before the first Gears of War and returns to Emergence Day, with Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago facing the Locust's first attack. The Coalition also confirmed campaign, co-op, Versus multiplayer, and Horde Siege, a 12-player PvE mode.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, E-Day bets on 4K, up to 60 FPS, destruction, advanced lighting, and a heavier tone. It is the kind of game Microsoft needed to sell visual power and technical scale this generation.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation Ends the Remake Trilogy
Final Fantasy VII Revelation was announced as the third and final part of the trilogy that began with Remake and continued with Rebirth. The reveal stirred the community, mainly due to the end of PlayStation exclusivity.
The game is scheduled for spring 2027 in the Northern Hemisphere and will launch simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The decision to go multiplatform promises to increase the impact of the franchise's closure.
GTA 6 Price Revealed
GTA 6 finally received its price and pre-order details. The standard edition costs R$ 449.90, while the Ultimate Edition costs R$ 549.90.
The release is scheduled for November 19, 2026.
GTA 6 Won't Include a Disc in the Physical Edition
GTA 6 also reignited the discussion about physical media. Take-Two confirmed that the boxed version will only contain a download code, with no disc.
The version begins shipping on November 12, 2026, one week before the official launch, to allow for preloading. The decision reinforces an increasingly common trend in major releases, as Rockstar wants to avoid leaks, leaving the much-desired disc aside.
Resident Evil Veronica Confirmed by Capcom
Resident Evil Veronica was officially confirmed by Capcom as the remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica. The game arrives in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
According to Capcom, the remake preserves the essence of the 2000 original, but will feature a reimagined story, updated graphics, and development in the RE Engine. After the remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4, Veronica was one of the most requested titles by franchise fans.
