The game created by Will Wright, developed by Maxis Studios and published by EA Games, The Sims 1, was a success and, as expected, a sequel was announced! The Sims 2 arrived in 2004 and brought a lot of new features, expanding what was already cool!
You could choose the star signs to complement the sims' personality, thousands of clothing options, furniture shopping options, cars that took the sims to work, be able to modify the entire game community and many other cool things, in addition to the clear graphical improvement which turned the game into a truly 3D game!
But what hasn't changed are the small references and jokes hidden in objects, interactions and details that make the most avid Easter egg hunters spend hours staring at the screen and reading text after text.

The Most Fun Easter Eggs from The Sims 2
1. Flying Inflatable Pig: If your neighborhood has a water tower as a decorative object, sometimes you can see an inflatable pig flying around.

2. Photo of Missing Sim: One of the biggest mysteries in The Sims 2 is the disappearance of Bella Goth and on the back of the milk cart, you can find her photo. To this day, no one knows exactly what happened to her, making this one of the game's biggest Easter eggs.
3. Grim Reaper Biography: If you make the Grim Reaper playable using cheats, his bio says he studied at the University of Hawaii. The biography also mentions that his favorite band is Styx, a real-life rock band.
4. Hot Air Balloon in the Neighborhood: In neighborhood view mode, you can see a hot air balloon passing by. Using the free camera mode to take a closer look, two Sims can be seen: One sim that looks like Bella Goth from The Sims 1 and another that looks like the man on the cover of the game's complete collection. 5. Rick Astley Reference: The wall pattern called “brick wall” refers to the rickroll meme, which comes from the song by singer Rick Astley. The description includes the phrase:* “These bricks will never let you down.”
6. Maxis logo on the TV: When purchasing a television in Buy Mode, you can discreetly see the Maxis logo on the DVD player below it.
7. References to Will Wright: Will Wright, creator of The Sims, is honored in several Easter eggs, such as his face appearing on a Sim's t-shirt. In The Sims 2 University, he appears in a background photo when creating a student. There’s also a decorative object in the shape of a giant Will Wright head that can be placed in the neighborhood.

8. Cloud and Satellite Watching: Sims can lie down and watch clouds to increase their fun bar. There is a very rare chance that a satellite will crash and kill the Sim. The satellite can be sold for 2,000 simoleons.
9. Social Bunny: When a Sim's social need bar is completely depleted, a giant rabbit named Social Bunny appears to interact. Other Sims can't see the rabbit, which makes the Sim look crazy. He will leave when the Social need bar is halfway full again.
10. Reference to the "Iron Chef" Program: When watching the Yummy channel on television, a cooking program may appear whose representation resembles the famous "Iron Chef" program.
11. Children's Chess Telephone Book: The telephone book that children use while playing chess has a cover with letters of the alphabet. Despite this, there’s writing on it that contains acidic and confusing words.

21. Radiohead reference: The "Fan-cadalic Frequency" stereo has an album on the bottom shelf whose cover looks like Radiohead's album The Bends.
22. Tombs Mystery in Strangetown: In the Strangetown neighborhood, when playing with the Specter family and exploring the backyard, you will find many graves belonging to random people. This mystery remains unsolved, but there is a theory that they were all murdered by the character Olive Specter. Among the names of those buried are Hugh Tenacia (a pun on “Euthanasia”), Earl E. 25. Sports Channel with Images from EA Games: There’s a new sports channel in the College Life expansion. The clips shown on the channel are actually taken from EA sports games such as Fight Night, Madden NFL, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, and FIFA.

Alien Abduction and Pregnancy in The Sims 2 Bohemian Night: If your Sim has been abducted by aliens at least once, there is a chance that when using the dense sphere in the Bohemian Night expansion at medium or high speed for a while, your Sim disappears and the machine turns off. After 2-4 hours, the Sim respawns. Apparently they were "abducted" again, as they comes back pregnant and will eventually have an alien baby.
27. Sir Briggs-a-Lot Toy in The Sims 2 Open for Business: In the Open for Business expansion, one of the toys which can be created in the toy making machine is "Sir Briggs-a-Lot." This is a pun on the name of American rapper and songwriter Sir Mix-a-Lot. One of the toy's designs also resembles the rapper.
28. Papaya Regime Store in The Sims 2 Open for Business: Still in the Open for Business expansion, in the Bluewater Village shopping district, there’s a clothing store called "Papaya Regime," a reference to the Banana Republic retail chain.
29. Total Control of Pets in The Sims 2 Pets: In The Sims 2 Pets, although it’s possible to see the needs of the pets, there’s a trick that allows you to fully control them. When using the ControlPets on boolprop code, you can make pets perform various actions, such as moving to specific locations, interacting with objects, destroying furniture, among others.
30. Roth Family: An interesting fact about The Sims 2 Seasons is that you can visit River Blossom Hills and check out the Roth family. This house is very similar to the famous Goth family of Pleasantville. These reference the lovers of Don Lothario, one of Pleasantville's best-known characters, including Nina Caliente, Cassandra Goth, Dina Caliente and Kaylynn Langerak.

33. A Gift from the Ninjas: Still in Bon Voyage, if you go to Takemizu Village and visit any community lot, you may encounter a ninja. They will appear teleporting from one side to another before disappearing. You can learn the teleport skill from them, but you need to approach them before they leave. The ninja will ask you a question with two answer options. Interestingly, the choices don't matter much, as both have a 50% chance of being right or wrong. It's pure luck.
If you answer correctly, the ninja will reveal the secret to teleportation, and your Sim will be able to teleport by clicking on the ground and selecting the "Teleport Here" option. People around will react to the teleport. If you get the answer wrong, the ninja will disappear, and you will need to find him again in another community lot.
34. Reference to one of the Series Producers: In The Sims 2 Free Time pack, when starting a new game, your house will be visited by Rod Humble, who will leave a gift containing a special computer. Rod Humble was the executive producer of The Sims in 2004 and worked on the series from the first game to the third. The gift he left behind contains an exclusive computer with a llama sticker.
