From Prince of Persia to GTA VI, passing through God of War, Resident Evil, and major RPGs, the behind-the-scenes news brought updates that help us understand the industry's future in the coming months.
Cancellation of Prince of Persia Remake
Ubisoft brought a wave of project cancellations that caught many by surprise. While many rumors pointed to a mid-January release, the remake Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was also hit by this restructuring.
Some screenshots of the project leaked online, and the community revolted. After all, it seemed to be in an advanced stage of production.
GTA VI: Physical media, fire, and invasions
We still don't know if GTA VI will actually be released on November 19th, as announced by Rockstar. Meanwhile, everything involving the franchise is quite hectic. Kratos from the God of War series is Thor in God of War: Ragnarok.
Ryan Hurst, the actor and voice actor for Thor in God of War: Ragnarok, will return… but not as the god of thunder. Amazon and PlayStation have chosen him to play Kratos himself in the live-action adaptation. At least the guy understands the franchise in some way. The adaptation will introduce us to the Norse saga of the Ghost of Sparta.
Fable yet in 2026 and multiplatform
Microsoft has fully embraced the strategy of releasing its studios' games on other consoles. In addition to Forza Horizon 6 — which will arrive on "competitors" a little later than its Xbox and PC release — Fable will also be hopping over. The RPG is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and received incredible details at the last event from the American giant.
Resident Evil Requiem Previews
Resident Evil Requiem is a dual experience. According to previews, playing as Leon and Grace will be like having two games in one package. Leon is more efficient in combat against zombies. On the other hand, Grace performs better at conveying terror to the player; after all, her participation will have more of a survival horror feel.
Final Fantasy VII Remake launch on Switch 2
Exclusive to PS5 at launch, Final Fantasy VII Remake is now available on virtually all major platforms. Cloud's adventure's been selling very well in Japan since the Switch 2 port was added.
EA FC 27's open world has leaked
FC The Grounds has been registered by EA Sports and is expected to appear in EA FC 27 as a small "open world" for soccer fans. According to leaks, in addition to social interactions, players will be able to access game modes such as Clubs and other options by exploring the available map features.
Highguard launch
After closing the last The Game Awards leaving many questions unanswered, Highguard is finally available for free. Ultimately, it was a game where you (in a very summarized way) have to steal a sword, summon a giant machine to break through the enemy base's defenses, and destroy the facilities as quickly as possible.
Crimson Desert is promising everything… Will it deliver?
