The first update for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta is now available, adding a new map, a new mode and changes to areas that had drawn complaints from players.Cachette is Modern Warfare 4's new 6v6 map. Set around a French rail terminal, the compact map features an old mechanic's garage and an abandoned wine warehouse that have been turned into an arsenal by military forces. The update also introduces Inflation, a mode where eliminating opponents earns players money. Whoever accumulates the most cash is marked as a high-value target. Taking down that player lets opponents steal their money, which can quickly shift the balance of a match.Infinity Ward has also adjusted footstep audio following criticism over its high volume. Footstep sounds have been reduced in the beta. The studio also acknowledged that time to kill, known as TTK, “still isn't right” and reduced the lethality of some weapons.Another addition is map voting. According to Infinity Ward, the system needed four maps to work effectively, a number reached with the addition of Cachette. The team said it will continue working on the beta throughout its testing period, leaving room for further updates. The early access phase ends on August 25, while a second open beta begins on August 28.In addition to multiplayer modes, this weekend's test phase also includes a playable campaign mission.
