Even though they can be fun at first, over time the experience can become frustrating, either because of having to deal with players who ruin the fun for others or due to the gameplay loop itself, which can end up becoming repetitive and tiring.

Cozy games are games designed to provide a calm and pressure-free experience, focused on casual fun. Playing them alongside friends can be a great way to bring people together, leaving aside the frustrations other games can cause. Instead of fierce competition, the idea here is simpler: relax, have fun and enjoy nice moments together.

With this in mind, I’ve prepared a list of 10 games for you and your friends to have fun without the risk of losing your friendship due to a ranked match ruined by a troll. After all, the most important thing in a game is to have fun!

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley has become one of the most well-known cozy games ever due to its welcoming atmosphere, serving as a true refuge for those looking to escape from everyday problems.

In the game, the player inherits a farm left by their deceased grandfather and must take care of it, planting crops, caring for animals, fishing and interacting with the residents of Pelican Town, strengthening bonds of friendship over time.

In addition, Stardew Valley allows you to play coop, with up to eight people on the same farm, providing a unique experience where each player can take on a different role to help the place grow and prosper, and of course, guaranteeing fun and unusual moments along the way.

Webfishing

This is a great example of how less can be more. Webfishing has a simple but captivating proposal: fishing on an island while interacting with other players.

Players create their own avatar, choosing between a cat or a dog, and can explore the island while fishing and chatting with other people. In addition to fishing, the game offers the possibility of playing instruments, such as the guitar, and even drawing in certain places. However, its great charm lies in fishing, where, occasionally, players catch comically giant fish. There are also secret areas to explore, and the option to set up a personal room, decorate it with an aquarium of special fish and customize the avatar with new clothes.

Moving Out

Moving Out manages to transform one of the most stressful tasks of adult life —moving— into a chaotic, fun experience full of hilarious moments.

You and your friends take on the role of employees of a moving company, with the simple (in theory) mission of transporting all the furniture from a house to the moving truck within the time limit. However, the exaggerated physics, the chaotic scenarios and the challenge of fitting the furniture correctly into the truck make each move a real mess.

Despite its frenetic pace, Moving Out guarantees good laughs throughout the gameplay. Whether you're trying to throw a sofa out the window as a team, arrange the furniture in the truck like a real improvised Tetris, or deal with absurd obstacles, such as throwing items over a pool or even through a black hole, the game delivers guaranteed fun for everyone.

Cat Quest II

Swords, magic and lots of cuteness! Cat Quest II offers all this and more for fans of action-RPGs, combining the charm of the classics with gameplay inspired by the Zelda games of the top-down era.

The story follows two charismatic protagonists, a cat and a dog, who join forces on a journey to reclaim their respective thrones as King of the Cats and King of the Dogs, putting an end to the war between the two nations.

The game mixes hack'n slash combat with classic RPG mechanics, offering a wide variety of weapons and magic which allows for different gameplay styles, ensuring a fun and dynamic experience.

Although the world is not the largest compared to other RPGs, it’s rich in detail and full of secrets to explore, with charismatic characters, light humor and several dungeons filled with challenges and valuable rewards.

Sky - Children of the Light

MMOs are known for their social aspect, be it exchanging information and overcoming challenges, or simply making new friends. However, Sky: Children of the Light offers a different experience by removing traditional communication. While there is some form of interaction, it doesn’t happen in the direct way we’re used to.

Developed by the creators of Journey, the game describes itself as a “peaceful MMO” where players embark on a journey to encounter the spirits of their ancestors and help them move on towards the light.

With a visually stunning world that looks more like a moving painting than anything, Sky offers a cozy yet adventure-filled experience. Players explore immersive environments, solve puzzles, investigate ancient ruins, and soar through the skies—all while making new friends. Even without words, communication happens through gestures and sounds, creating a unique connection between players. In addition to exploration, the game also allows players to host small parties in their personal space and play music with instruments available in the game.

Powerwash Simulator

There’s a real market for games with curious proposals, such as performing tasks which are tiring and stressful in real life, but that become relaxing and enjoyable ingame. PowerWash Simulator is a perfect example of this.

The objective of the game is simple: you and your friends have a cleaning company and are hired to clean extremely dirty environments, using high-pressure washers and other cleaning supplies that help with the task. The idea is uncomplicated, but provides hours of relaxation and fun, with large maps in which each player can choose an area to clean.

Party Animals

Cute animals throwing punches at each other in the most chaotic way possible, Party Animals gives us this and much more.

The game puts each player in control of an animal, and they battle it out in different scenarios, where only one will emerge victorious. With funny and wonky movements, sound effects that really communicate impact to each blow and weapons ranging from nunchucks to tasers and wooden clubs, chaos is guaranteed. In addition, the game offers other gameplay modes, including team challenges to accumulate points and even a kart racing mode.

In Party Animals, it doesn't matter who wins. What really counts is the fun created by the absurd situations and the guaranteed laughs at each match. The game makes it clear that the results are just a detail, showing the characters still fighting on the victory screen, before the final photo, always in a comical way.

Blanc

With a captivating story, hand-drawn monochromatic art that looks like it came straight out of a picture book, and gameplay that keeps you and your friend hooked until the very end, Blanc is truly a work of art.

The game follows a wolf cub and a small deer who, after getting lost in a snowstorm, form an unlikely camaraderie and must help each other find their families by following tracks in the snow. Each animal has a unique ability that complements the other's, allowing them to work together to solve puzzles and continue on their journey.

Sometimes, it’s good to take a break from competitive games focused on rankings and enjoy more casual experiences to relax, chat, have a good laugh, cooperate in puzzle-solving or simply enjoy a good story with friends. In the end, many people forget that one of the main goals of video games is to have fun, not to get frustrated.
