Today's round
Everyone gets the same ducks today, in the same order, so the score means the same thing for everybody. Six waves, two shots per duck, and the round changes at midnight UTC.
How is the round the same for everyone?
The ducks are not random. Their order, height, speed and timing come from a seed made out of today's date, so the round you play is the round everybody else plays, and the score means the same thing for all of us.
The seed comes from the server, not from your clock, because the day has to change at the same instant for everyone.
Is there a leaderboard?
Not yet, and that is on purpose. Your best score is kept in your own browser. A public score route with no account and no anti-cheat becomes a wall of nines in two days, and then the board says nothing.
Could a leaderboard ever work?
Yes, by replaying the round. The browser would send the seed and the list of shots, and the server would run the same deterministic simulation and check the score. That only works because the round is seeded, which is why the seed came first.
Why does it not follow the light and dark theme?
Because it is a game board, not a page. The sky, the grass and the targets have their own fixed colours on purpose, the same way a card table or a video player keeps its own look.
