World of Warcraft: Forever goes live on November 4, 2026, at 3 p.m. Pacific, which is 23:00 GMT. Blizzard describes it as an evergreen version of Azeroth. It's the level 1 to 60 world of the original game, set in its first year, with new zones, dungeons and raids built on top and more promised after launch. It isn't a separate purchase, so any account with a subscription or game time can play it.The Classic servers that opened in 2019 were built to replay the original game as closely as possible. Forever starts from the same world and builds on it, and those additions are what this piece covers.New corners of an old mapThe level cap stays at 60, and two design rules carry over from 2004: no flying mounts and no level scaling. The map is where things change, with more than a thousand new quests between levels 1 and 60 by Blizzard's count. Mount Hyjal becomes a zone about the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat, with Darkwhisper Gorge inside it. Shen'dralas turns a long-hidden mystery between Mulgore and Desolace into a new storyline built around the Highborne of Eldre'Thalas, the city players know as Dire Maul. The Riverglades, a frontier of rivers, grasslands and trade routes, carries more than 150 new quests through the mid-30s to mid-40s.The SkyborneForever's one new race starts on Zephras Isle, an elemental starting zone for levels 1 through 12. Faction is chosen at character creation. Horde Skyborne can be Shamans and Alliance Skyborne can be Mages, while both sides can play Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid, with druid forms made for the race.Playing one takes the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the cheapest paid edition at €29.99 in the European Battle.net shop. Everything else in Forever is open without it.Dungeons, raids and a new battlegroundNine new five-player dungeons are spread from level 13 to 60. The first is Hall of Thanes, a dwarven burial hall beneath Ironforge for levels 13 to 18, and the last is Shaper's Terrace, a titan facility in Un'Goro Crater for 58 to 60. In between, the City of Dalaran (28 to 33) is entered through the sewers after the barrier around the city falls. The Drowned City off the Stranglethorn coast is an open-air dungeon whose final fight plays out in a storm.Raids open on December 9. Barrow Deeps sends 10 players through eight bosses inside Mount Hyjal. Hyjal Summit, near the World Tree Nordrassil, is a 20-player raid with 13 bosses, and between them the two new raids carry new tier sets and a legendary reward. Onyxia's Lair returns as a 40-player raid, and every player needs the Drakefire Amulet from a faction quest chain to get in. All three reset weekly.PvP gets the Darkspear Islands, a 15 against 15 battleground that mixes control points with flag captures in the style of Arathi Basin.Systems for leveling and altsLegacy is the new account-wide progression. At launch there are 65 Legacy Challenges worth one point each, spread over six categories, and classes alone account for 27 of them. Points belong to the whole Battle.net account. Each character spends its own allowance, capped at 16 at launch, across the Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness trees. Most players will see the first point when a character reaches level 25. The four launch rewards end with a mount, the Reins of the Spectral Bear.Camping turns professions into shared buffs. A cook's Basic Campfire holds up to three extra camp features, and the other professions supply them. A Leatherworking Camp Tent tops up rested experience, while an Engineering Reagent Bot lets nearby players buy reagents. Anyone who sits or crafts near the camp for at least a minute picks up the effects, though some don't stack with class buffs: the First Aid Kit's Stamina is exclusive with Power Word: Fortitude. How the game looks is mostly up to the player. Transmog is opt-in, and there are modern and Classic visual presets plus HD or SD character models, with the classic animations restored on the HD ones. Gamepads are officially supported too. There's no server list to pick from. Instead you choose a ruleset, which means Normal, PvP or Roleplaying at launch, with Hardcore arriving later. Groups, dungeons and raids only form within one ruleset, and a character can't switch to another unless it's a Hardcore character that has died. What gold pays forForever asks for gold well before level 60. Riding is the biggest bill. Blizzard hasn't published final prices, but guides built on beta data put the first riding tier at about 100 gold and the second at about 1,000, with the first mount included in the training. Even the Cerulean Prideclaw from the Heroic Pack needs riding bought in-game before it can be used.Camping can cost gold too: once a profession reaches skill 20, its first campsite items come from starting-zone quests or can be bought from the trainer. Raid nights in December will add consumables and repair bills on top. The Legacy trees can soften part of this, since the Bartering perk lowers the gold price of items bought from vendors.Gold also stays where it's earned. A character can't leave its ruleset, so its gold can't either, and Horde and Alliance characters can't group with each other. That matters for any trade, including a purchase of WoW Forever gold. The order has to name the region, ruleset and faction of the receiving character, and the gold arrives inside the game, by mail or by trading in person. Create and name that character before ordering, because delivery goes to a specific name.Five weeks to the first raidsLaunch on November 4 and the raids on December 9 are exactly five weeks apart. A player aiming for the first Onyxia nights has three jobs in that time: reach 60, finish the Drakefire Amulet chain and save for riding. The ruleset comes before all of them, because at launch a character stays in the ruleset where it was created.World of Warcraft: Forever FAQWhen does World of Warcraft: Forever launch?World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, 2026, featuring an expanded level 1 to 60 Azeroth world available to all active subscription accounts. What is the new race in WoW Forever? The Skyborne is the new playable race starting on Zephras Isle, featuring custom druid forms and unique class availability across both Alliance and Horde factions. When do raids open in WoW Forever?Raids launch on December 9, 2026, introducing Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and the returning 40-player Onyxia's Lair requiring the Drakefire Amulet for entry. What is World of Warcraft?World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Blizzard Entertainment and released in 2004.
