The Blood of Dawnwalker sold 1 million copies just two days after its release. Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves confirmed the milestone, reached 48 hours after the RPG launched on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 3.

In a message posted on social media, Rebel Wolves thanked everyone who played, shared, supported the project and became part of the community. It is an impressive start for the studio’s first major release.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world dark fantasy action RPG set in 14th-century Europe. The story puts players in control of Coen, a human by day and a vampire by night, as he fights for his own family. Player decisions shape the narrative.

The game also uses an internal clock that places Coen’s journey within a 30-day period. The system has divided players, with some welcoming the idea while others have pushed back against the time limit.

Founded in 2022 and based in Warsaw, Rebel Wolves is led by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and co-director of Cyberpunk 2077. The Blood of Dawnwalker also marks the team’s first original intellectual property.

Bandai Namco indicated in June that the dark fantasy saga could span centuries, continents and cultures in future chapters. A CGI teaser showed Coen in a modern, 21st-century setting, offering a glimpse of where the broader storyline could lead.

Tomaszkiewicz said each game planned for the Dawnwalker series should work as a standalone adventure, with its own story and no narrative hooks, loose ends or time travel. Narrative director Jakub Szamałek also urged players to watch for clues tied to the saga’s larger storyline in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco have yet to reveal when or where the planned future games will be released.
