Konami is already considering new Silent Hill projects after completing the franchise’s first wave of releases. Producer Motoi Okamoto said the company is planning a second and third wave of games, but cannot share details yet.

Okamoto said the three titles initially announced have reached audiences and received praise. The positive reception, he said, left the team satisfied and relieved, but did not bring the series’ plans to an end.

“The successful launch of this “first wave” comes as a great relief, but we’re not going to stop here; we need to think about the second and third waves. We can’t share specific details, but at the moment, we’re considering several projects.”

- Motoi Okamoto

The first wave included the remake of Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall. The latter is the series’ most recent release and follows Simon Ordell in 1990s Scotland.

Reviving the franchise required convincing Konami itself that making new games was the right path. After Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills project fell through, Okamoto argued that a standalone remake would not be enough to keep the series active. He also considered that a single release could lead audiences to fear that development on new games would be canceled again.

Konami has already expressed satisfaction with the reception of the released titles, but has not revealed which projects are under consideration or when it plans to present them. Separately, Bloober Team, which developed the Silent Hill 2 remake, confirmed that it is working on a remake of the original Silent Hill.
