Cozy Games to Forget the World
If your routine is hectic and your mind won't shut off, perhaps what you need isn't more competition or adrenaline but a game that acts as a breather at the end of the day. To forget the world for a little while.
Today, we at UmGamer have selected some cozy games perfect for slowing down. Below are some perfect titles to unplug from the world and rest your mind!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Available on: Nintendo Switch
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is practically a virtual refuge. You arrive at an island and gradually transform the place into a space full of personality, in your own way.
There are no major objectives or any sense of hurry. You can spend hours fishing, collecting items, decorating your home, or simply walking along the beach listening to the sound of the ocean.
The island residents are charismatic and always bring fun dialogue, creating a very welcoming feeling. The passage of time in real time makes everything even more special, especially during the game's nights, which are very calm.
TOEM
Available on: Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S
TOEM is a black and white adventure in which you explore small towns using a camera to record moments and help characters along the way.
The premise is simple: walk without haste, observe details, and take creative photos while solving small, light, and fun challenges.
The hand-drawn visuals convey a cozy and almost nostalgic feeling. Additionally, the soft soundtrack and slow pace make each setting feel like a small stroll to clear your mind. It is a perfect game for those who want to relax without having to think too much.
A Short Hike

Available on: Microsoft Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
In A Short Hike, you control a small bird exploring a natural park while slowly climbing a mountain searching for a cell phone signal.
The journey is simple but very charming. During the walk, you meet friendly characters, discover secrets, and enjoy tranquil landscapes full of soft colors.
The game conveys a genuine sense of freedom and calm. There is no pressure to complete objectives quickly. In fact, the pleasure lies in exploring every corner at your own pace.
The delicate soundtrack and welcoming atmosphere make it one of the most relaxing experiences to unplug a bit from a busy life.
PowerWash Simulator 1 and 2

Available on: Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S
It might seem strange at first glance, but PowerWash Simulator is one of the most relaxing games of recent years. The premise is simple: use a high pressure washer to clean accumulated dirt in different scenarios.
Precisely, this simplicity is what helps me shut down my brain. There is something extremely satisfying about watching the dirt slowly disappear as you clean walls, cars, playgrounds, and entire houses.
The game does not require quick reflexes or complex decisions. At most, you think about whether to use your in game money to buy soap or a new nozzle for your machine. Great!
House Flipper 1 and 2

Available on: Microsoft Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Android, and iOS
Here, you buy old houses, clean up the mess, paint walls, change furniture, and renovate every room however you want. Or you renovate and clean other people's houses according to what they ask for.
There is something very satisfying about seeing completely destroyed environments slowly come to life. The calm pace allows you to do everything without rushing, enjoying each change and going at your own speed. The most you have to choose is whether to clean the kitchen or the living room first and what kind of furniture you will use to decorate.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Available on: Nintendo Switch and Wii U
Despite being an extensive adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also manages to be one of the most peaceful games to explore.
It is possible to walk through the open world, explore simply without a destination, climb mountains, look for small secrets scattered throughout Hyrule, or find hidden caves to solve puzzles. Or even look for the perfect horse for you, as there are many horses!
The soundtrack helps create a contemplative atmosphere. Often, the game feels more like a silent journey of exploration than an action packed adventure. I mean, you can choose not to face any goblins or enemies for a while and just explore around on your spotted horse.
I have spent an entire afternoon just doing that, and it was very satisfying. The same also applies to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom!
Valheim

Available on: Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Series X|S
Although it has survival elements, Valheim manages to be incredibly relaxing once you get into the rhythm of the game.
Building your own Viking house after learning to cut down trees without them falling on you and killing you, navigating slowly through the seas, and exploring silent forests creates a peaceful atmosphere. It is a comfortable game to spend hours in.
Much of the experience lies in collecting materials, organizing your base, and enjoying the feeling of gradual progress. During the night, especially with rain falling on your cabin while the bonfire warms the room, Valheim becomes one of the coziest games.
Terraria

Available on: Microsoft Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, and iOS
Terraria blends exploration, construction, and adventure in a 2D world. Despite having combat moments, much of the experience can be very peaceful.
Digging through caves, building houses, decorating villages, and collecting resources creates a comfortable loop. The game rewards creativity and allows you to advance at your own pace. The calm soundtrack of various biomes and the pixel art visuals help create a welcoming feeling during more tranquil sessions.
It is one of those games perfect for "just a few more minutes" until you realize you've already spent an hour relaxing.
Jurassic World Evolution

Available on: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S
Jurassic World Evolution puts you in control of a park full of dinosaurs, but the experience goes far beyond management.
There is something extremely relaxing about watching the dinosaurs walk through their habitats, organizing enclosures, and building a beautiful and functional park. The game offers freedom to decorate areas, care for the creatures' well-being, and simply appreciate the atmosphere inspired by the Jurassic Park universe.
Additionally, it is also possible to collect DNA from excavations to acquire new dinosaurs. If you like calm and predictable games AND dinosaurs, this one is perfect!
Core Keeper

Available on: Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S
Core Keeper combines underground exploration, mining, building, and farming into a very satisfying and visually beautiful experience.
The game places you in mysterious caves full of resources, creatures that may or may not be friendly, and secrets scattered across the map. Gradually, you build your own base, grow food, and improve your equipment, all at your own pace.
The soft lighting, colorful environments, and peaceful soundtrack create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere throughout the journey. Even when exploring dangerous areas, the game maintains a pleasant adventuring vibe that keeps anyone immersed.
I would go as far as to say that Core Keeper is similar to Minecraft in some aspects, especially regarding mining and exploring new locations. But for me, Core Keeper is much more beautiful and has some very cute creatures.
Pokémon Pokopia
Available on: Nintendo Switch 2
Pokémon Pokopia leaves battles aside to bring a cozy life simulation experience alongside Pokémon. In the game, the player takes on the role of a Ditto transformed into a human and explores an abandoned world, rebuilding it bit by bit. By collecting materials, creating buildings, and setting up habitats for the Pokémon, we reconstruct the entire Pokémon community in this world that was once devastated.
Unlike previous games, the focus in Pokopia is on decorating spaces, helping the Pokémon, and fixing up the villages and cities. As we improve the comfort of the inhabitants, we can access new areas and help more Pokémon. Each small task becomes rewarding because there is a small result afterward, even if it takes time.
The nostalgic soundtrack: We also have access to CDs with old soundtracks from the franchise! And the "cute" visual graphics reinforce this sense of peace.
Pokopia invites you to explore and enjoy daily life alongside the Pokémon. It is my favorite cozy game of 2026 and the reason many bought the Nintendo Switch 2!
Stardew Valley

Available on: Microsoft Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Android, and iOS
In Stardew Valley, you leave the corporate rat race to rebuild a small farm in the countryside. Planting, fishing, caring for animals, and talking to village residents become surprisingly relaxing tasks.
The game allows you to follow your own pace without constant pressure or the need to compete. Each day brings simple and pleasant little achievements, such as harvesting vegetables, decorating the farm, or watching the sunset while calm music plays in the background.
The pixel art aesthetics and the welcoming soundtrack create a very comfortable atmosphere. This is one of the most classic games, but we could not leave it out!
Conclusion
Sometimes, all we need at the end of the day is a few minutes of tranquility to slow down the mind. That is what I tried to bring with this list of games, each in its own way.
I hope you have found your next game to relax with!
