Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Wolverine has completed development on its 1.0 version and “gone gold” ahead of its September 15, 2026, release. The studio shared the news in a short video on social media showing Logan with golden claws. They will also be unlockable in the game.

In the industry, the expression “gone gold” means that work on the game’s main version is complete and that it is ready to be pressed onto PS5 discs. Insomniac confirmed that the full 1.0 version of Marvel’s Wolverine will be included on the disc itself. Even so, the game will receive a day-one patch via digital download.

The title will be PlayStation’s next major single-player PS5 exclusive. After that, God of War Laufey and Intergalactic are among the company’s previously announced upcoming releases of this kind.

Marvel’s Wolverine also moves away from the open-world structure used in Marvel’s Spider-Man. Logan’s journey will be linear and focused on brutal combat, putting action at the heart of the experience.

A preview lasting more than two hours, held earlier this week at PlayStation’s London headquarters, described the game as a cinematic experience with bloody, satisfying fights. The preview also highlighted gameplay, design and visuals that meet the standards associated with Insomniac Games’ projects.

With the final launch version complete and ready for disc production, Marvel’s Wolverine will arrive exclusively on PS5 on September 15, 2026.
